Not everywhere. I used to watch Doctor Who in the Tom Baker regeneration. One season he was opposed by AGEs armed clearly with Steyr AUGs, even if they did have red and blue canisters attached to make them look more futuristic. That was the year of the Hungerford murders, after which autoloading rifles were banned. The next season, the same lot of AGEs was armed with toy AUGs, about 7/8 scale with fins and flanges molded in. Still had the red and blue canisters. So the studio did not get an exemption to keep Section 5 weapons for filming.
