Am thinking about a .17 hmr pistol for pest control and plinking. Saw a Cricket bolt action .17 hmr pistol and am wondering what people that have shot them think? Accurate? well made?
Thanks for your comments.

I have a .22lr cricket pistol with a 2-8 handgun scope on it. That on has a match chamber. Will shoot 1/4" 25 yard groups with good ammo. Under an 3/4" at 50 is practical too. So I would bet the 17 will shoot well but it will be LOUD and there is nothing you can't do for critter control with some of the CB's and cci "quiet" ammo better. Spending the same dollars for 22 match grade ammo maybe more than suprising to many as to how well they can shoot. Triggers are ok but very simple function, bolt is a pull to cock function and non adjustable safe triggers. Not bad ,just not great. I added a string loop to the back of the bolt to aid in cocking it . Old fat fingers!! Not on a 17 cal but maybe this will help.

KCAce,

Thanks for posting. I've had a similar itch, but haven't yet convinced my wife that another gun is necessary to protect her chickens.

If you end up getting one, I think you owe the group a full-fledged review.

OH Spartan - if I get the cricket, will do a full review. also considering the ruger, though suspect the longer barrel and bolt action of the cricket would make it more accurate.
Thanks for comments.
