Crisbow Crossbow (pic heavy)

Maybe worth to mention, I met the guy who build the first series of Crisbow crossbows. He is now living overseas but slept over in a guesthouse a few years ago near me. I have a gunshop and he visited me for a chat & coffee.

Hi wildeboer,

Wow, I have read so much about the crisbow crossbows in the last few months that I think I will pull the trigger (pun intended) and purchase one myself - looking for the Crisbow Quadro 2000! Anyways, do you happen to recall the name of the guy you met with, or the name of anyone from the Crisbow company for that matter? Sorry for the thread bump 4 years after the last message from you...

I appreciate any information! Just excited to learn more, thinking of doing a research report over it :)

Howdy y’all,

I recently purchased this MK4 Crisbow and found out when I went to tear it down for cleaning that on or possibly both of the limbs where bent. Anyone have experience replacing or repairing them, or would anyone have parts or service I could purchase?

Great to see this thread is still going! It is the best resource for Crisbows that I have found on the web.
Thanks to Odd Job for the buffer print. I printed it using the specs provided and it came out great! IMG_1646.jpg
The white one is the TPU, the black one is PLA test print and the yellow is the original.
I am trying to convert a Quadro to use standard string material using 3d printed cams but unfortunately the person going to print them in carbon fibre nylon has gone awol! If I manage to get it done I'll post here. IMG_1647.jpg

That's great to see, another Crisbow rescued!
Welcome to THR and let us know if you get the cams printed or CNCed. I know a lot of folks (me included) wouldn't mind having the 3D files for those.
By the way what stirrup is that on your bow?

The stirrup is just 6mm mild steel bar, bent and welded to a wingnut and normal nut. I'm planning on dipping it in plastidip or the like. IMG_1650.jpg IMG_1649.jpg

I actually have 3 Crisbows in the shop in various states of repair. A mark I, a cheetah mark III and the Quadro. Like Letterhead a few posts up, some of the recurve limbs are overstressed and bent. I'm toying with the idea of using a Mankung fibreglass limb as a replacement! I'll cut it in half, drill holes and make some sort of cap to hold it in place. The deflection is similar but the mankung limb will be 1" shorter.

I'm happy to send you the cam files but be aware they haven't been tested and there's no guarentees!

It's great to see these bows being worked on!
The cams would be great, but I agree, they probably should be tested. They are a very difficult shape to model by hand, maybe that's a job for a 3D scanner.

I assembled the MarkI with the mankung xbow limbs today! But I'm too scared to cock it fully! At 9" of draw it over loads the 100Lbs bow scale I have! And I need to draw at least 13 1/2"

It's looks the part but I think the limbs may be a little too much. Maybe the 120# mankung limbs will work.
If anybody in interested in the build process, I did take a few pics.
They look upside down but thats because of the different angle that the mankung xbow uses.

The plastic is there to relieve some of the stress of the sharp aluminium edge against the fibreglass.
