I finally added the shorter barreled one to my PHP collection. These are pretty cool, but super hefty pistols. In looks, they kinda are a cross between a Berretta and a Walther P1. They have the open top slide. Unlike the Walther, these pistols have a single recoil spring. But they are unusual in that they have a square guide rod. When disassembling, there is a removable locking block on the under side of the barrel.
They are SA/DA with a safety but no decocker. But you can pull the trigger with the safety on to decock.

Ive heard that the XD mags will work in these. Anyone know any truth to this?

Dunno about the mags but I doubt it. They (the mags) look pretty different. As far as the gun itself, I think they seem neat but with practically no parts availability and a reputation for incredibly fragile extractors I haven't really given them a ton of consideration.

The XD mags have the release cutout on the front for the XD's ambi release. The PHP have it on the right side. I doubt an XD mag would lock in.

A Beretta 92 mag looks pretty close though. given the PHP's lineage you might give one of those a try.
