Hey! Did you know that CSI is a crappy show?
Just saying

want a good show? Watch all 14 seasons of NYPD blue. Good plots, REAL LAW PROCESS, REAL DETECTIVE WORK IS REPRESENTED, and there were maybe only 3 or 4 bad episodes in 14 years. THAT WAS AN AMAZING SHOW! Well filmed, and well written!

Seen the episode yet? It's not on here for a few hours...

I see the blurb for it, though. "...illegal machine gun that vaporized the victims." That sounds fairly absurd. However, if it's just something that the blurbologists (or whoever-the-hell writes that stuff) came up with, then maybe the show won't be quite as bad.

Law & Order: SVU is palletable. Chris Maloney's character is very much like many of us. It is balanced with Richard Beltzer (Character and real person), which is a necessary part of a good series, despite my distaste for the man.

The original L&O sucks, and L&O:CI is too much like CSI

Man. Law and order criminal intent is CRAP! Like....they always find clues in seconds. They can have cases of paperwork in front of them and always find the 1 piece that's pertaining info RIGHT AWAY! UGh....I hate it. And even if the murderer's lawyer is in the room, they still find a way to get him to admit to the crime! SUCH GARBAGE!!!!

In one episode, they said that the victim was sniped by a .223 round fired from a Ruger 10/22.

Edit -

IMDB.com said:
Factual errors: The rifle they say was used to shoot officer Delko was a Ruger 10/22, yet the bullet they say he was shot with was a .223 caliber. The 10/22 fires standard rimfire .22 cal. bullet, thus the model designation. If he were shot at close range with a .223 cal. bullet, there would be precious little left of his neck and he most likely would have been dead before he hit the ground.

Ooh...

Where can I get one? (a Ruger 10/223, that is)

;)

Wow. When they said vaporized, they meant vaporized. I've never seen anything that fake before in my life... certainly not in what's supposed to be a "realistic cop drama".

My apologies to the Fraternal Brotherhood of Television Blurbologists (or whoever-the-hell).

Similar to the "Metalstorm" gun developed I believe in Australia.
Geesh, the special effects were cheesy as anything done on a 1980 Radio Shack computer ... The episode was written by the guys who gave us black helicopter conspiracies and Area 51 alien spaceships and CFR tyranny type stuff. Ugh.
If it had been a woman, it would be a cheap hussy prostitute with really overdone mascara and garish lipstick with a heavy gangster-moll accent.

I've watched the show a couple of times before and I could swear that the blonde haired chick carries a Stainless Kimber .45 1911. I saw a slow motion shot where they had a close up of her and the gun and I am pretty sure I saw "Kimber" across the slide. Could just have been seeing things, but I was almost positive.

You don't want a gun that fires 100,000 rounds per minute? :)

I still like how they can look at a bullet and tell it was fired through a suppressor and while they can't match it to a specific firearm, they can match it to a specific suppressor.

Or how they always look up guns in Florida's gun registry.

Or the episode where a cruise ship Captain is wearing Army/Marine Captain bars (O-3) instead of Navy Captain Stripes/Chicken (O-6).

Or...or...or..or...or.

I laugh every time you see any of the CSI shows charactors being the first though the door raiding a suspects home, or shooting it out with AK,MAC 10,M16... weilding BGs with a pistol and winning, or them interorgating the suspects like they are the assigned detective. I laugh even harder when I imagine a local PD or State Crime lab tech attempting any of CSI's foolishness.

the real tragedy of these type of shoes, IMHO, is that they are poisoning impressionable minds. What I mean by that is a good friend is a prosecutor and he tells me he has had to add into his deposing of potential jurors that they have to put out of their minds what they see on CSI. IE police investigators do not go into trances and "See" the crime happening. They sometimes cannot specificly tie tire tracks to the left front wheel of the suspect's car, or a specific, mashed out bullet, conclusively to the suspect's weapon.
He has told me about juries letting bad guys go because the evidence tech didn't sound CSI enough
*sigh*

Goodness- his dramatic range consists of repeating the same sentence over and donning and doffing his sunglasses.I irregularly watch reruns of CSI but can't watch the one set in Miami as it's almost like a bad parody jumping from often ludicrous but plausible to horribly acted and inane.

For a good REAL crime show,it's tough to beat The First 48 on A&E.Real homicides, real detectives.

I'm pretty sure if they still had a shark to jump, Horatio cleared it tonight

Very well said! :)

I loved the line "They wanted to kill him without leaving marks" right after they had discovered the stun gun marks on his neck. . . . . the craptastic quality of the writing makes me wonder if they're trying to create something like the Rocky Horror Picture show . . . . .where you come just to see how bad it can get.

Anyone else think Horatio is clearly a sex offender of some kind? Every time I watch the show I have visions of him standing with hands on hips saying "If you tell your mommy, Timmy, I'll get you."

Nightwing -

They've only got 60 minutes! They HAVE to find the clues that fast.

Does anybody remember that Dr. Welby could diagnose and cure ANY disease in 30 minutes??? :)
