CZ 457 MTR

Yesterday was testing a fairly **NEW** to me CZ 457 MTR .22 caliber rifle:



Thought I'd try the "Tack Driver Target" once the optic was dialed in:



The target on the left is 5 rounds of RWS R100, the right is ELEY Target. Not hard to figure out which this rifle likes best:

Now you can retire the tack hammer and just shoot a round w/ the rifle

Excellent. I want one. I have been looking. Local dealer has other models but not MTR. I am real happy with my 452 Lux and American.

I think one main reason why the CZ 457 MTR is so dang accurate is how the ammunition is chambered:



While the bolt does turn down with a bit of pressure, the bullets are engraved by the leade on the first driving band. That does create a bit more pressure, but it also increases the velocity a tad bit more.

Good shooting! I just got a notification from Turnbull about their 457 Lux. The Lux was a rifle I truly could warm up to. If I hadn’t inherited my dads Cooper I might have had to cave in

This is usual in full bull target .22s, also.
The first I know of was the S&W Third Model Single Shot, 1909-1923 in the variant with Olympic Barrel.
