Florida Gun Works is the only shop my Google-Fu could locate that actually had any in stock, but their minimum shipping fee is kind of ridiculous.

Florida Gun Works is famous for not having stuff in stock they say they do and also love taking your money but not shipping products till you raise hell with them...not a good company to do business with.

Tokarev for range and Makarov for carry. I don't like the CZ-52 It is ugly, bulky and too many potential problems with decocker and rollers.

Questions about various 9mm ammo

Why all the various 9mm rnds 9x18,19,25mm. Seems that that would standardize the round. I have a Norinco 213 purchased NIB back in mid 90's, it shoots 9x19 Luger ammo. Can't the barrel be swapped out to shoot other 9mm ammo? My 213 is hardly broken in. Magazines are kind of hard to come by so, I found some new for $20 each, so I purchased 5 of them. Not crazy about the low capacity of the mags but it's a really tough proven pistol. I may eventually purchase a Glock 19 for the higher capacity magazines available.

The 9x23 and 9X25 are pretty much competition cartridges and aren't standard chamberings. The 9X18 is an older round that has survived thanks to the huge number of surplus guns from the Eastern Bloc. The other 9mm rounds like the 9mm Largo, 9mm Browning long, etc have just about faded away. The 9X19 and the 9X18 are pretty much it for standard 9mm offerings today.

Also of note: most of the guns designed for 9x18mm are blow-back action guns which could not be chambered for 9x19mm without a complete redesign.

9x18mm is much more akin to .380 (which is ALSO a 9mm - 9x17mm) in design goals than the 9x19 cartridge.

I have a 213, too. I don't know if I'd alter it. It's shoots with target-gun accuracy.

Anyway, 9X19 and 9X17* have the same case dimensions except for length; 9X18 does not. Also, 9X17 and 9X19 have the same diameter bullet (.355-.356") while the 9X18's is .365". Even if they chambered perfectly and the bullets were all the same diameter, you'd have to do some major recoil spring experimentation (and maybe some redesigning on the gun itself?) to get it to cycle the way less powerful ammo.

* 9X17 is also known as the "9MM Kurz," German for "9MM Short."
