A friend of mine got a CZ P-01 Omega, tricked it out with slim G10 grips, tritium night sights and the full CGW trigger set-up. It's a sweet gun and I admired it quite a bit. Then she got a shot at a Stacatto and jumped on it, and asked if maybe I would like her CZ? Yes Ma'am, thank you Ma'am! We made a swap and I got her very, very nice pistol, a holster, extra mags etc. I set it up with the de-cocker.

Very sweet shooting gun, great trigger and almost supernaturally reliable no matter what I throw in the magazine. It's my new primary EDC.

Nice!
The P01 and PCR are highly under valued carry guns. I've got 2 PCRs and P01 myself, both are carry pieces.

My PCR with its RDS is my EDC and is GTG. (sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Who did the milling, looks like Cajun or Impact?
Do you like the larger holosun, what made you go with that vs the smaller direct mill optic?

Wanna mill my P01 and debating going your route or going with CZ custom that has a swappable plate system.

@Michael Tinker Pearce @velocette This are beauties. What's the recoil like? Thanks. :)

I don't think about recoil impulse so much as recovery time between shots and in that regard it is very, very quick; the balance between the reciprocation mass of the slide and the recoil spring is perfect. Double-taps at 7 yards stay nicely in the black on a small pistol target.

What was your EDC before this CZ?
This custom 9mm 1911. Systema Colt frame, RIA slide and bull barrel, EGW 1-piece guide rod with flat-coil recoil spring, Novak rear sight, custom front sight, hand-made checkered Maple grips, blended and checkered flat mainspring housing, undercut trigger-guard, hand-cut 20 LPI checkering on the front of the grip frame and under the trigger-guard. Ambidextrous safety, extended trigger with overtravel stop. Mek Gar 9-round magazines. Finished in Light Olive Green and SOCOM black Gunkote.

The short, light slide, full-length handle and EGW recoil system get this gun back on target super-fast and the 3 lb. trigger with an ultra-short, very positive reset lets you take full advantage of that.

I can shoot the CZ about as well as I can this gun but the CZ holds half-again as many rounds, has night-sights, second-strike capability and is shaped so that if it prints it's less conspicuous. I purpose-built this gun for carry and I adore it, but the CZ gets the nod in the end. Mind you, I still carry the 1911 sometimes, and don't feel under-armed at all when I do.

Great swap, IMHO. :)

I really like my P-01 Omega. I also went the CGW route and find it to be a very reliable and easily shootable pistol as well.

That 1911 is also really nice, great job on that one.

Stay safe.

CZ 75 Compact pistols, stone cold reliable, fits your hand nicely and lots of nice aftermarket parts and pieces.

I have always said the single best hammer fired metal frame CCW pistol on the planet is the CZ PCR. I had three, all lost over the years to medical bills from the Ex, but I would go back to one in a heartbeat.

Millwork & sight mounting done by Cajun Gunworks. Chose larger Holosun for quicker dot acquisition and it matches the one on my K38 revolver that I use in club competition.

I've been buying handguns for over 40 years and I just purchased my first CZ, a P0-1 (non-Omega). I have no idea why I waited so long because it fits my hand like a glove and is a lot of fun to shoot. I just finished with a little internal polishing and installing a CGW Pro Kit... Now it's absolutely amazing. The DA trigger pull is super smooth and averages 6 lbs 8 oz. From the Decocked position the trigger pull weight is 6 lbs 6 oz and SA is a nice 3 lbs even. I couldn't be happier.

I bought one (SP-01) and loved it.

Now that one CZ has turned into seven CZ’s in the span of just a few months. :what:

All have CGW springs, upgraded guide rods, firing pins and firing pin stops, etc.

They are Czech crack, I tell ya. Very addicting. ;)

Stay safe.

I was similar in that I never really warmed up to semi-auto centerfire handguns. The 1911s, Berettas, High Powers, and Glocks I'd owned and/or shot were okay, but didn't excite me at all. I remained a revolver guy. Then a few years ago I finally happened to get a full-size CZ (85 Combat) and loved it, and a few more followed that one. And as you said, CGW parts make them even better. At minimum, the simple little Ultra-Lite kit is very worthwhile, but the Pro Kit is really great.

Looking at prices online, why are Omegas selling for about $200 less than standard P-01’s and also have much more availability? Are they less quality or desirable than the standard version?

I'm no CZ guru, but my understanding is that the Omega mechanism has fewer parts and it is easier to manufacture. People who want to trick out the 75B or P01 prefer the original (trigger basket) configuration, as Cajun Gun Works has more options for reducing the SA and DA pull. They do offer upgrades for the Omega mechanism, but the net gain is not as significant. So that makes the original mechanism more desirable to some (many?).

I wanted the up swept beavertail on a 75B, and since they did away with the SAO, that feature is now only available on the Omega. I also like the idea of being able to convert between de-cocker and manual safety. But the real reason I went with the Omega is because I held multiple examples of both in my hand at the gun store and unmodified, stock out of the box, I found the Omega trigger to be superior. No regrets... it's a great gun and has a very good stock trigger. I may put the CGW kit in someday, but it's very good as it is, so I'm in no hurry.

Just before last Christmas I decided to buy a new pistol. I realized that one of my favorite pistols is my CZ 75B, so I looked at smaller and lighter versions. I settled on the P01 omega and I am very happy with it. Probably only 250 rounds so far but it’s been flawless. I prefer a safety over a decocker so I went that way.

Dry-firing the 75 series more than a minimum amount?

Make sure you do so with a snap cap, or tiny rubber O ring.
Trust me on this—-pm me for further details.

An —extremely popular— precaution is to buy the Cajun GW $5,00. roll pin, which is harder than the CZ factory “Firing pin Retainer pin” / roll pin. This is hollow, and hollow is highly recommended by the CZ factory.

—-Very easy to replace the original Retainer/Roll pin-- it only contacts/touches the left and right side of the slide—-. See Youtube, and …..to change the pin.…Leave the Slide on the frame, in the normal forward position.

I really want a P-01 Omega to add to my small CZ collection.
