Got a dead NM Single Six last week or so.
Shop got it, didn't want to send it back, cut me a deal.
Popped the grips..........somebody had left a home made pin in hammer strut.
It was stuck, but a proper punch and a couple taps got it out.
Hmmm, cylinder free spins.
Pulled apart, latch spring mangled, no plunger.
Got new, still no go.....uh, hammer plunger broken.....missing busted off piece.
Got new one...........won't cock. Too long. Have no idea how long it should be.
What is proper length? Guess there are different plunger pin locations.
Not much help on web, dimension wise. Found one post w measurments.
So looked for a used hammer on auction site.
Lo and behold there's one like mine, w plunger and pin location same.
I grind mine some and put in hammer. Looks long. Try again. close but maybe too long.
Remembering the dim I pulled off the web.........I'm thinking "that'd be too short".
So decided to go a bit more and test.
Latch pops up about half way in scallop of cylinder.
So I have a .22 mag (only one cylinder) NM blued 5.5" Single Six for about 180 bucks.
