A question for the members that are dialed into current mil policy.
I was told by a soldier that all ammo cans were being destroyed instead of being surplussed out.
Is it possible that this level of irresponsibility has really taken over mil policy?

You mean recycle vs auction off?

Yeah, it’s possible. You understand the military not only teaches people how to kill others but they also are teaching members on how to use the right pronoun, so as not to offend the sensitive.

Crushing cans, wasting our money vs trying to make the most of it, isn’t a shocker at all. They might even prefer it that way.

You know, you need to spend all of your budget this year or they will try and cut it next year because you obviously didn’t need it.

Is it possible for the .gov to waste money? I contend it is most probable they do.

Thanks for a great answer jmorris, unfortunate but accurate.
I probably asked wrong, does anyone have direct knowledge of a .gov policy of destroying ammo cans vs auctioning them off, They have become, as I am sure the members are aware, unavailable.
As a side question, do any members have an opinion about the various plastic cans vs mil. surplus cans for ammo storage? If surplus cans are no longer available, which in your opinion of the alternatives are best? I have tried the Horror Freight Chinese metal cans but don't have any long term results.
