This is a very scary concept, but it is one that a lot of nanny-state authoritarians embrace. These are the folks who think it is tolerable - just barely tolerable - for a few licensed, vetted, and well-to-do citizens to own a skeet gun and shoot at the country club. But if something like Katrina happens, the first thing you have to do is round up all the guns because nobody but the authorities can be trusted with firearms when things get dicey.

Whenever anyone says anything like this, it should be a flashing red alarm signal to all gun owners.

It's hard to see Rudy as anything but a RINO. The only reason he can be considered one of the right is that his native constituency is so far to the left.

I'll pass on "America's Mayor." And to hell with his successor, Bloomberg.
