I called to today in regards to two items

1. A set of dillon powder measures that are galding/ worn. One was a plain aluminum bar the other has the black coated bars.

2. Original 1978-1983ish plastic primer pick up tubes. (I HAVE RECIEPTS FOR 5 YEARS OF ORDERS WHICH HAVE THESE TUBES LISTED AS LINE ITEMS)

I spoke with Gary Keith

My powder measure issues were addressed, However when I brought up my primer tube that is when Gary told me what dillon was and was not going to do.

I told him I had around 200 tubes which I had RECIEPTS for from the time frame of 1978-1983. He said and I quote dillon is not replacing 75 tubes. (HE WAS SNOTY AND ON A POWER TRIP)

He got this number by not listening when I told him I sent around 75 tubes last spring in for warranty as they had failed to properly pick up primers due to warpage of plastic tubes. (NEWS FLASH THEY WARRENTED THEM AND I HAVE 75 NEW STYLE TUBES)

I asked him why he was being such a ****head about this as it was all dillon products my grandfather had purchased in the 1970s to 1980s and i in fact had RECIEPTS for these tubes whichi couldscan and email. (he never provided me with a means to send the scan)

He flat out said he had never dealt with anyone who had more than 25 and did everything except call me a liar when I insisted on the quantity I possessed and the pedigree of how I had them in my possession.

I have delt with dillon since around 2018 when I bought my first dillon 650 and I will say customer service was quite helpful and parts and issues were resolved and replaced quickly until 2020. This company has gone down hill ever since, but everytime something is said against dillon that person is labeled as a hater and slander of the holy dillon name.

I have my RMA number and as Gary said will send in the receipt with However many tubes I want replace. (As of this post I don't want to give this smug little man the satisfaction)

I know everytime someone says they will never do business with dillon 12 more jump on the free tit to suckle upon the fallices and fantasy dillon sells with their no BS lifetime warranty.

This is the end of being a customer, when my dillon equipment fails if I can't repair it myself I will trash it and replace it with whatever else is aviable at that moment in time.

Tools & Targets had a similar customer service experience with Sig Sauer. It got so bad that they ripped his refund check in half before mailing it to him. I will never put a Sig in my safe. As for presses, I’m a Lee, man.

I've had two experiences with Lee customer service that wasn't the best but I like them and Dillon so I continue to use them.

It’s difficult to deal with CS when they don’t meet your expectations. The problem with a phone call is there’s only about a 40% exchange of information. I’m not defending Dillon, but I suspect some of their training is to watch for scams and someone having that many primer tubes is a bit unusual.
LL Bean used to have a generous warranty but then people abused it to the point where they needed to modify it and of course, the normal good people suffer.

I have 6 small and 6 large primer tubes. I gotta ask, why so many primer tubes?

Even Santa Clause gets tired of hearing about how bad his service has become. Taking another man's problem and fixing it over the phone must take it's toll, even if all you are supposed to do is give away your product without any questions. I guess Gary forgot to take the High Road.

The quickest and easiest way NOT to get anything you want is to go down the foul language path. Unfortunately, common civility isn't common anymore. You lost ALL of your "rights" to replacement parts when you lost control of your mouth.

Dillon's "no BS warranty" is an offer. This offer can be withdrawn at any time for any reason. When you want a favor from another person, the best policy is to be the better person. For at least 2000 years of human history, the standing rule has been "Treat others the way you want to be treated". If I was the Dillon CS rep, I would permanently block your number.

Further more, if I was the Moderator on this board, you would be permanently banned from THR. This because your foul language makes it harder for the rest of us to get our parts.

The tile of this thread should be "Complaint about a Dillon customer".

The plastic tips can be replaced. No need to repoace the Al tubes. I had some bad along time ago and they sent me a bag of replacement tips for the tubes. They just slip on and off. I want buy anymore of primer tubes from DIllon. They have a tendency to dump all the primers if the end pressure is a little light, if you happen to jar the tube. Hornady's are way too hard to feed as in new. I use a set of number drills to open them up so they are easier to fill.

I agree with your statement about the aluminum tubes.

My issue is not with the aluminum tubes it's with the original clear plastic pickup tubes.

My tubes are from as late as 1978/9 to 1983

These are items many have forgotten dillon manufactured at one point in time.

Well their "offer" is their main selling point and has been from day 1 when my grandfather bought his equipment and 200 primer pickup tubes in 1978 -1983.

I started the call just fine until he got snotty about the tubes.

I didn't use foul language, I accurately described his behavior and actions on this call. This was mild at best

I have 6 small and 6 large primer tubes. I gotta ask, why so many primer tubes?

My grandfather was involved with machine guns and IPSC sport and like to load a lot in that time frame.

Before he bought the primer filler from dillon we used to all set in the kitchen and fill all 200 tubes maybe 3 times a year.

He is gone now and I DO NOT NEED 200 tubes but it's the fact they were sold under that no bs warranty and the flack I got back that bothers me.

My FLG is probably the only guy in town that Dillon charges for parts. Probably because he tells them how the design or material could be improved so they would hold up better. They seem not receptive to suggestions for improvement.

My only adverse moment with Dillon was the time I said my early production Super 1050 had a jerky advance that flipped power out of the case. A representative, I think on this board, said "that has been corrected, call me and I will send you the new part." So I called and got a different guy who was going to charge me $76 for that part. I said no, thanks, and called again until I reached my original contact who sent me the part for free.

Well their "offer" is their main selling point and has been from day
I respectfully disagree. Their main selling points are that their machines work better than just about anything else on the market. And hold their value better. A lot of companies have tightened up on their free parts because so many of them turn up on online auction sites.

But I do agree that a CS rep should be courteous to customers on the phone.

If they do not manufacture the plastic tubes any more how are they going to replace them? Maybe it is logical to get the new Al tubes as a replacement? Maybe it is not? I do not know the Dillon warranty but were the tubes warranted at the time of sale or would they be an "accessory" that might not have been covered forever? Any way an interesting windmill for you to tilt, I guess. The idea of thousands of primers sitting around in tubes is a little frightening to me. The concept of a forever warranty is a little unclear to me also. The idea that you should have 200 new Al tubes because you grandfather bought the original plastic tubes? I am going to have to think on that one a while longer myself.

My experience as well...plus, they've got the best CS rep in the business by far..."polite, knowledgeable, prompt & free" that's been my experience with Dillon's warranty promise for the past 20 years. Rod

OP has a real life gripe. It’s at most a thought experiment for us. I refuse to side with dillon and I’m no damn communist. I prefer the dignity of common men over allegiance to a company that would do the same to me.

I don't think I ever have dealt with any company, shooting oriented or anything else, that matches the customer service of Dillon.
RCBS has come close for me over the years. Powder Valley and RMR Bullets also excel in serving their customers, but yes, Dillon has been outstanding, particularly when Mike was still with us.

During the panic before last I needed a Dillon part and their phone was constantly busy, I wound up contacting Gary directly and had what I needed in 3 days.

There is an industry on ebay selling (free) Dillon parts by unscrupulous sellers, so I can understand questioning someone that wants 75 of something replaced when each press only comes with one of each size.

For who’s lifetime is the lifetime warranty good for? The original purchaser’s lifetime or the original purchasers descendants’ lifetimes in perpetuity?

It’s the life of the machine. This is why they have such high resale value. The $120, 39 year old SD I have has the same warranty as a brand new $629 one. Even back then I couldn’t quite grasp the concept but I wish others would adopt it. If they started making trucks, I’d probably be one of the first on the list.

I asked him why he was being such a ****head about this

Tone, it’s all about tone. You would have got a dial tone addressing me like that. Calm down, and communicate, pissing someone off that you want to help you is always the wrong approach.
