Do gun prices fall

Maybe there's not (?) "an elephant in the room".šŸ¦£

Either way, over the long-term, don't assume anything about prices for any future gun After next November (just a random month), because nothing about the --prohibited topic-- can be assumed.

Sure prices drop. Aside from some reasons already mentioned. If they are not good sellers they will be shipped off to the wholesale market.

Almost every newly-marketed gun I have bought over the years have later gone down in retail priceā€¦while they are still in production.

Some blast off after they quit making them, others have values that rise more slowly. And a few specimens, well they actually lost value.

Stay safe.

Several manufacturers recently released new products and some seem to be pretty high in price for what they are. When i said this to a buddy, he stated he will wait a year until the new price falls a bit and that prices are usually crazy when they just release something. Anyone else find this true?
Gun prices do not fall.
Presidents - that's a "horse" of a different color.

Yep. I've been looking at CZ P-10C's. Per CZ-USA's website the MSRP is $399, most places around here are selling them for a whopping $10 below MSRP due to the buzz they've been getting lately. I'm holding off till mid year when the street price will hopefully be more like $350.
those were more expensive a few years ago. i think around $450.

Guns certainly do lose value, and that's not even counting depreciation due to use/condition. Collector markets can cool off as easily as they heat up. Used to be about $300 difference between a model 12 and a model 97 Winchester shotgun, with the 12 being pricier. They flipped about 20 years ago and a nice model 12 won't bring the sort of $ it did back then. A nice model 42 would have cost better than 2 grand in the mid 2000's, whereas I've seen a few here and there in the $1500 range recently. Model 52's? The 75's have about caught up in price.

Some guns just fall out of favor I guess.
Don't even get me started on the Thompson Center .22's.
New gun price drop? Ask around here about the Walmart closeouts and such ..
