I'm fitting an angle bore bushing to one of my pistols....

The bushing is a left over from another gun and the I.D. was too small.

I've openned it up, and it fits the barrel tight.... maybe too tight?

When cycling the slide it feels like it hangs up just before the barrel cams up. If I keep the barrel pressed to the rear when cycling the slide its smooth as butter. I think the corner of the upper lugs are just barely catching as the slide cams up because the bushing is pulling the barrel forward...since it's tight.

Is this just a hand cycling problem that will seat in or do I have it too tight?

Sounds like a 1911 bushing. I know on the 1911 the bushing is sized close to the diameter of the barrel AND the top front of the bushing along with the bottom of the rear of the bushing need to be relieved some so the barrel has clearance to tip up and down some so it will not be springing as the barrel tips downward. Sounds like that may be what you need to do??

D'OH! Sorry, I've got a 1911 track mind ;).

The bushing is an EGW angle bore, it lets the barrel cam up fine with the slide off the frame, it's just the fore and aft motion of the barrel is stalled by the tightness of the bushing. I don't know if this will endanger the upper lugs on the barrel, or even if it can endanger them.

Moving the slide forward slowly it feels like the upper lugs are catching at their corners right before they cam up into the slide.... But if I keep one finger pressing the barrel to the rear while the slide moves forward it cams up smoothly with no resistance. With the factory bushing in place this resistance never occurs.... the factory bushing is very loose by the way.

During live fire I don't know but would guess that this is a non-issue  I'm assuming that during live fire the barrel will be at the rear till the slide pushes it from behind, no matter how tight the bushing?
