I can't believe this topic has generated 8 pages! I thought this baby had been put to bed thirty years ago. Surely there isn't anyone out there still recommending carrying an empty chamber? Just the risk of short stroking alone is enough to make it one of the worst ideas ever to make its way into the self defense training market. Add to that the fact that gunfights are won or lost in a matter of seconds, and there's just no point debating it. Quite frankly, if you don't feel comfortable carrying a loaded chamber, then you're not comfortable enough with your rig to be carrying it in the first place. You either need to seek training or get a different gun/holster because you either don't understand your gun or you've got a dangerous carry rig.

Well ,I won't even travel with someone that carries a round in the chamber. In a group ,I make sure others know the chamber is empty...I think it is only fair and the safe thing to do.

I'm speechless.

This is just stupid now. Anyone who would carry an uloaded gun, should not be allowed to carry at all. It puts us all in danger of a bad guy getting a gun. If it's not chambered it's not loaded. You may as well leave it home, and I believe this post is just to taunt us into wasted rehtoric. You know a set up, troll, anti, whatever you want to call it.
We need to stop feeding this one.

I tried it briefly yesterday.

I had no safety objection. It was just unstable and printed too much even for me.

With a subcompact I think it works great. If I had a good IWB kydex holster I'd be fine with it. The soft (neoprene?) uncle mike's I have when I'm not pocket carrying I don't have quite enough faith in
