Do you name your guns ?

Star Jones... lol.

Must get a CZ 52 - two of them. I'd call them Aurora and Borealis, because of the muzzle flash.
The 45... Nelly. No reason.
As more money comes, more guns will come as well - and increase the size of the harem.

yes.

My Kimber TLE/RL II tac name is Kimber.
My HK's name is Hoochie (cause she likes to get dirty)
My Ruger MKIII is Trisha (dont know why just like it)
My Ruger Super Blackhawk hunter model is Cammy (reminds me of a friend of mine...she is a little large)
My S&W mod 19 .357mag is Constance ( always a pretty group even at 25 yards)
My .300weatherby is Bertha (cause she makes a hell of a bang and has a lot of "RANGE" on her)
My Winchester 63 .22LR is not named...yet

I call my guns by the company owners name or by the designer name. My 1911 I call John, and my SA58 I call David. My 870 on the other hand I call H-G-I-C, short for "head gun in charge".

Well, I wasn't going to name any of my guns, in fact they don't really have names per se right now. But, then my Mosin Nagant M38 was fired, and I said, "This mutha f#c$@ is a beast," once I felt an insane ammount of recoil hitting on my shoulder/

Ever since then, I've been unable to shoot that thing more than maybe ten rounds without getting a nice little bruise. And it is unofficially known as "The Beast."

I've been looking at getting an M91/30 bent bolt. And if I do, it will probably get known as Ludmila.

I have two identical Taurus Gaucho SAA that I use for Cowboy action shooting. In order to tell them apart I carved a tiny but ornate "Alpha" symbol in the bottom of one grip and "Omega" in the other. That's what I've called them ever since.

The SxS shotgun I use is "Simon" (I had a knock down that wouldn't fall and finally I yelled "Simon Says Fall Down" and -blam- down it went, to much mirth and applause)

Yes. They all have names.

There's Garand, M39, M44, K31, M28 #1 and #2, AR, 10/22, Model 94, ...

I've named a few:

S&W 649 is Mary Beth;
FM Hi-Power is Evita;
FN Hi-Power is John Moses;
Makarov is Natasha;
SKS is Simon

The rest remain unnamed for reasons of plausible deniability.

My position is that you're not allowed to name a weapon unless you've used it to defend your life.

Well, not that it's an official name - but it seems my Mosin M38 is called:

"Ow! Owee! Ouch! Oh that hurt!"

My Marlin 30-30 was named by one of my hunting partners. "Mr. Lucky"

My 30-338 is named Bertha. She's a big ole bitch with reach out there touch it and knock it the hell down power.

My Ruger SBH is affectionately known as Bisley.

None of the rest of'm have names.

Well... There's Kimber, and Officer's, and ACE for the 1911's

-Steve

I had a benchrest rifle we called Smudge. (wife & I) Traded it for a different type action. That gun does not really have a name. I just call it by its action maker--Rosenthal. (my Rosenthal gun) Give her a name. (yea.. her)

My roommate wants to name my HK P2000 "Snuggles"

:D ROTFLMAO. Very good!

As for mine, too many to name and remember, so I have just named my Cowboy Guns:
Marlin 1894 .357 Rifle: Diva, cuz she only works with .357 and no .38 SPL. She'll sing all day with the .357, but with the .38SPL, she jams up and refuses to sing at all.

Taurus Gauchos in .357: Dimples, for light primer strikes, and Regular for never failing.

Stoeger 12 Gauge SXS: Calvin because like a Calvinist preacher, it belches Fire and Brimstone (with BP loads anyway).

Nagant Revolver: Lowest Bidder

tinygnat219,
You forgot your Mosin's new nickname.. "Nope".

You wanna shot it... nope
you sure... yup
c'mon you know you want to shoot it...nope

<grin>

There was this one guy who posted on THR or TFL who said he named his Argentinian Colt Systema "Evita". I thought about doing that too, but I didn't want to steal his idea.

I guess I could name my Brazillian S&W M1917 "Pele" because it has a good kick.
my K31 "Sven" just because I can't think of any famous Swiss.
my Yugo SKS "Tito" because he probably ordered it to be made.
my M1903 Springfield "Sgt. York" because it is so old he might have used it in training.
my 870 Express shotgun "AFLAC" because I want to shoot that damn AFLAC duck from the commercials so bad.
my Colt army "the Good Clint" from "the Good, the Bad, the Ugly"
my Remington 1858 revolver "the preacher Clint" from the "Forgiven".
my .32 Iver Johnson "Leon" after "Leon Czolgosz ".
And finally, I could name my French pinfire revolver "Jerry Lewis" because it looks so funny.

Only one, the Ithica 37 I carried on patrol back in the day was called "The Dragon" Fire and Brimstone and all. (pistol grip 20 inch barrell)

I named my 1911 (Springfield Mil-Spec that I customized myself) "My Precious". For some reason I get funny looks when I tell folks that, though. :scrutiny:
