The Hornady is much cooler with 3 dies (Insert, swage, eject) and a shell plate with 5 rods sticking up to hold cases.
You drop a case in and it aligns with a rod, which then moves to the swage die and than from there to the eject die (which catches the case and present it for removal). It's not really designed to be paired with feed tube or a collator. To use it smoothly, you need to use both hands.
I've only swaged 9mmon my APP and the APP is faster because of it's case feeder...just fill the tubes and start pulling the handle. It is a bit more fussy to set up to get the slider to properly place the case...and I'm always worried that the plastic hook on the slider will snap off. The way it ejects the processed case is very clever and the whole process only requires one hand...other than filling the tube/collator. The LNL has a cleaner look because it doesn't have exposed springs and looks more rugged because it's all metal.
The APP is faster and more versatile .
The APP is nice because it isn't limited to the two calibers that the LNL is. I still use my LNL for .223 while using my APP for shorter pistol cases like 9mm and .45ACP
If I didn't already have the LNL, I'd likely have bought the APP and been happy...my only reluctance would have been staring at the five gallon bucket of .223 cases that I needed to swage and not knowing if the APP would hold up
