I had a pitbull that would go to the range with me. It was set up with a berm that you shot from. The parking was at the base of the berm. He would sit in the open back hatch of my Durango until I called him to change targets with me.
He chased birds and made new friends with the one or two other people we met.
If your range is like the crowded city ranges. I wouldn't bring my dog because of the distraction and noise issues.
Not to beat a dead horse. But gunfire is bad for everything's hearing. Keep unprotected shooting to a minimum.
