So I bought a Browning brand one piece scope base for my BAR and some Browning rings with front dovetail and the dovetail seems that it wont even fit in the mount. They were new old stock and I'm fairly certain they are not CNC machined (my first mistake). I don't want to mount this base and try leveraging a dovetail ring into place that doesn't fit. I found a deal on a Leupold one piece base which I ordered to see if I can't isolate whether the base is the culprit. Next I will be getting new rings if it isn't the base. When inserting the ring into the base and looking at how it mates up, certainly seems there is about a half millimeter of overlap of the end of the dovetail and the base.
Anyone else experience this? When you guys buy dovetail rings, can you at least get them started by hand, even if it is just barely? Or do you have to wrench that sucker for the whole 90 degree rotation?
