dye and linseed oil?

after many months of neglect i decided to refinish the stock on my tula .22 rifle. when i purchased it, the previous owner decided to rattle can the stock black without roughing up the finish below which let it flake off like crazy. after scraping it off i found the tip of the stock by the muzzle to be dyed a dark color. I am going to be refinishing the stock with boiled linseed oil, will dying the tip affect the oil in any way?

since the wood is almost white, it should give an interesting effect. and should i do anything else to the wood after applying the oil?

PS...the dye should only make it darker in that area unless the dye had some sort of sealant/varnish to it...
