I have a F.W. Heym 22 cal bolt action single shot rifle. Ser #5905 Does anyone have any info on this firearm?. It was made in Germany. East or West not specified Is this an antique, or does it have any value?

Heym is still in business and makes Double, drilling, combi and bolt-action guns. Off the shelf or made-to-order, in calibers from .22 to .500 Nitro-express. Rep. in USA- Double Gun Imports LLC, 214-606-2566 www.heymusa.com

Really look over the gun for marks, there is not enough information from this info alone and pics are always helpful. Does it have a cleaning rod or a barrel band? Heym made 98k trainers in single shot 22 with 3 folding leaf sights. These details are important.

Sorry, BAD, Blue Book does not show a Heym .22.

EHP, we need pictures.
This might be one of many sporting, target, or military trainer .22s turned out in 1930s Germany.
Ol' Adolph and the boys were real shrewd about encouraging smallbore shooting, glider flying, public works civil engineering, and other such stuff as led right into military training for when they were ready to remilitarize.

I too have a Heym 22 lr, single shot, bolt action, made in Germany. Rear sights have only a screw adjustment. SN 4922 on barrel and 922 on bolt. Any information would be a help. Thanks

EHP, Heym which generally enjoys a good rep did turn out some contract stuff and also named a few "auslander waffen", Italian shotguns for certain.

The proof marks should give us a clue. You can go to the German Gun Collectors website or simply surf-up firearms proofmarks. Don't hesitate to check the underside of the barrel it may have the month/year of manufacture.
