If I had the money, or the skills to do it myself I would have:
1. A carbine with interchangeable barrels in 9MMP, 38 Super-9MM Magnum ?, using 1911 magazines.
2. A carbine with interchangeable barrels in 40 S&W and 10MM Auto, 1911 magazines.
3. A carbine with interchangeable barrels in 45 ACP and 45 Winchester Magnum.
Steel receivers, walnut stocks. Leaning towards bolt actions, easier to retrieve the brass.

Phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range--obviously :)

Colonial Marines M-41A Pulse Rifle.

The carbine notion is interesting, it would want a simple way to do barrel swaps, which suggests a removable "upper" of some sort. Perhaps with a large, say rectangular, bolt carrier that could cope with the differing bolt faces the different calibers would want. For market success probably different magwells to fit different kinds of magazines (like Glock as a for-instance). Which might could be built after the fashion of the old Marlin Camp carbines just wit ha more modular upper. And the lower receiver, perhaps, being a bit of a "chassis style" to support both stock and fore end. Dunno. PCC purchase demand seldom seems to emulate state demand.

My dream rifle would be HK importing the HK433 into the US. While I'm dreaming, let's say they'll offer it in both 5.56 and .300 Blackout.

It seems to me one could create a straight pull action that used AR15 bolts and an AR 15 barrel receiver .The "bolt" would be the bolt carrier , and the bolt handle would be the latch . A poor mans Blaser .

Henry has a product suggestion box on their website and I've suggested that I would like a version of the single shot rifle in .327 federal , slimmed down in the fashion of a rook rifle ,but so far... nada . I also suggested the new homesteader in .30 Lugar ,10MM and 22 TCM . But not holding my breath .

A correct general-purpose bolt action rifle:
-medium caliber
-18"-20" medium contour barrel, stainless
- correct-for-cartridge-length push feed action with AR extractor, fixed blade ejector
- open bridge ejection port area
- flush mount 5-rnd DBM with 10-rnd option; top feed capable
- scope mount bases integral with receiver rings
- tang safety that locks the bolt down, two position is fine, three a plus
- traditional-style rigid stock configured for scope use
- stock material that is weather proof AND quiet in the brush
- stock as narrow as possible at the action for carrying (maybe a chassis, barely more than mag width ala 760 receiver?)
- front iron sight with replaceable blade and options for rear
- 6#'s nek'd
- $1000, preferably less

Everything above - save the ultra narrow receiver - is available on one moderate cost rifle or another, just not all on one that I can find. I am a simple man with simple needs.

a ruger made marlin 1894 in 357 mag with a 16" threaded barrel, stainless, with gray laminated stocks
bolt action 357 in left hand.
a $500 vz58
a left handed SFAR

Remington 760 stainless synthetic carbine in either .358Win or .35Whelen.

In lieu of the above, I just like to find a decent used one for a reasonable price that I can have bored out... cause at this point finding a plasma rifle is probably more realistic.

First, everything pump rifle.

Second,
Everyone said:
A phased plasma pulse rifle, in the much more accurate, 2,000-ish watt range.

I’d settle for a new nuclear power plant…

To make inexpensive electricity, to power foundries, to make good ol’ American Supersteels like stellite and inconel(or whatever, I’m a carpenter, I know wood, not steel) cheaper.

That would then make the act of burning out a barrel even more impressive.

Super alloy steels could make interesting twist rates for mono metal bullets.

Competitors would like the increase round counts that span entire seasons, practice included.

Varmint guns really could last an entire lifetime of hunting.

Inexpensive energy makes interesting rifles!

As I hVe suggested Henry many times or maybe Ruger will step up;

Lever action .460 S&W, .454 Casull, .45 C

A .45 short, long, long rifle

Followed by a .32 short, long, long rifle
.327 Fed, .32 H&R, .32 S&WL

I'm with you on that. I'd like to see them in .357AMP, 10mmMag, .44AMP, .45WinMag and some sort of .41 caliber version. I'd like a peep sight, pic rail, staggered 20 and 30rd mags and some M-lok slots on the front end.
