Actually no, the P238 was SIG's answer to the Colt Mustang.

What's a G17L?

It's a Glock 17 with a nearly 9" slide and a 6" barrel built more for competition use.

So why, may I ask did you choose the Sig 238 over the Colt?
The G17L is the one with the relief cut in the slide?

I carried the Mustang for a number of years and while it's a been a neat little gun I wanted to give it some time off in the carry rotation. Got the P238 for a great price (SIG had it in a nice package deal with a holster, laser, night sights, spare magazine, Nitron finish, and Rosewood grips), that I picked it up. The trigger isn't as nice as the Mustang's (though in all fairness the Mustang has been shot a lot more than the P238), but the night sights are a definite improvement.

I believe the G17L does have a relief cut in the slide and a slightly lighter trigger pull for competition shooting.

What's a G17L?

This was my 17L. Loved that gun, but now someone else does.

I love my 239. I carried that for years before I discovered the PPS with same payload.

18 hours a day 365 days a year.
