Barbara,

Love it. Hate to write too much about it, because I tend to gush.

After 3 years of constant carry and 10,000 or so rounds downrange, I'm prepared to say that it's a very reliable gun. I replaced quite a few parts after the takedown spring finally broke this August; I got the gun used and don't know how many rounds it had gone through before I got it, so it was certainly time to do some long neglected maintenance.

The gun itself is simple to use and fun to shoot. I love the size of it, but I think most other people prefer it with the magazine grip extenders since the grip is awfully dang short. The grip angle is classic Glock, which most people either love or hate -- there don't seem to be many folks without an opinion one way or the other.

If you try the G26 and find the grip angle bothers you, but you like the basic gun, the Springfield XD-9 is a similar-sized gun with noticeably different ergonomics. The XD has an even more solid feel to it than even the sturdy little Glock, but the price for that is that the XD is slightly heavier. Either one is a pretty good defense gun. The Glock, of course, has a longer history, but there's no reason to believe the XD won't be just as reliable. And, as I said, some folks do prefer its ergonomics over those of the Glock.

Btw, earlier this summer when a dozen women showed up for one of our Women's Study Groups, more than half of them were carrying a G26. Guess I'm not the only one who likes 'em! ;)
