I've been looking for one for almost a year. Finally found one that has virtually no drag line and doesn't seem to have been shot much. Maybe there will be time for shooting this weekend. There are rumors of a couple hundred round of 44 Special stashed around here somewhere...

You can see that it's the most common version: adjustable sights and normal hammer spur. I like the size - I would call it a medium frame with smallish grip area. But the Pachmayr style grips give my extra-large hands enough to hold. It has a full lug 3" barrel and I like the way it balances. Single action and double action both feel good. The large sights are nice. It feels heavy enough to take 44 Special recoil easily.

I am looking forward to shooting it! :)

Welcome to the club! I have the fluted barrel version. I found mine without even knowing I was looking for it. I saw a Rossi Cyclops for sale at my favorite local shop. While I was filling out paperwork on it they pointed out that the same guy who sold them the cyclops also sold them a 44 special. I had never even heard of a Rossi 720. I passed at the time but had immediate remorse. I went back early the very next day and bought it.

Interarms era Rossi guns are some of their finest work!

my glock spends most of its time on my book case since I bought my 720, easy carrying, natural pointing, accurate little gun. and it looks good too.

There is a cool video on YouTube where a middle aged Russian guy talks about how much he loves his 720, and he talks about taking out a wolf with it

This is my fourth 44 Special. I haven't even shot it yet, but I'm pretty sure it will be my favourite. I love the cartridge: enough "boom" to make it fun, but mild enough for good accuracy. And it puts such big holes in things. :)

Best ccw 44 Special going. I own the covert fixed sight version Never leaving my collection. Best revolver Rossi ever put out.
Congrats. Enjoy it.

lol that's FPS Russia, young guy from Georgia pretends he is a russian, likes to blow stuff up and shoots a lot of cool stuff

I have one of these i ended up with by chance when I was looking for a taurus 431. Can't say that I'm disappointed even in the slightest, I still haven't found me a 431 but honestly I just don't feel like it could be any better than the 720. Shoots great, carries easy, looks fantastic, mine has earlier style wood grips on it that just really make it pop.

Beautiful piece. Congratulations!

I've always loved the look of a non-fluted cylinder like that.

When I inspected it, it seemed just fine. I took it to the range, fired five rounds, and it locked up on me. I got it open, but the trigger and hammer didn't function properly. That's the bad news.

The good news is that I was headed to a LGS with a resident smith on my way home from the range anyway. He looked it over and thought it looked like an easy repair. He said it would probably be ready in just a few days.

We shall see.
