I built the lower Friday night and yesterday the barreled upper came in. Every thing fits really and looks good. The only complaint is the trigger. It's a little rough. I either need to find some one to polish it up, or just replace it.

I took it out right after work and put almost a full magazine through it and had zero issues.

Apply grease and a little polishing compound to the engagement surfaces, and excersize it 50 times, pushing the slurry back onto the surfaces every few pulls. This will nicely polish the surfaces, but only remove a miniscule amount of material.

This has always been an improvement for me, and takes about 5 minutes.

It's a 20" barrel.

I guess rough is not the right description. It's just plain heavy. Takes a lot to get it to go. My smith is putting a break on my 300 win so while I'm paying him, I'm going to have him get me a break for this and clean up and lighten the trigger. He said he could probably get it to 3.5pbs.

The recoil is already soft, I can't wait to see how it is with a break on it and a lightened trigger.

I can't wait to get to load development and see just how much I can squeeze out of this. I went back through my orders on the PSA web site and it looks like I spent about $940.00 plus a FFL transfer. If it shoots good, that will be pretty good since I paid $1400 for my DPMS.

Choot it, take it out and choot it! Very nice rifle, wishing you many happy and enjoyable days of shooting it. Don't imagine Idaho is much warmer then NE Ohio about now but with any luck nicer warmer days will be here soon. :)

No it's not a DPMS pattern. It does take the DPMS mags. But I don't think any thing else is compatible.

It's been alright as far as temp goes. Sunday was a very nice day. About 50 something.

I bought the same 20" upper, it arrives today. I am using a Magpul PRS stock on mine. I still need to decide what scope to use.

Grubby labs, good looking rifle. I have one of those only mine does not have the nice forearm like you do. PSA sells a polished trigger kit for 29 dollars and it is really good. I purchased 4 of them Have fun with your 308.

Does the polished trigger set fit the AR 10?

Looks like from their reviews that they go between 5.5lbs and 7lbs. My Smith says he can probably take it down to 3.5lbs. Where this is going to be a bench gun, to heavy to carry on the field, I don't think it will be a problem having a 3.5lb trigger.

Pretty sure the trigger is same as the ar 15 on the psa 308. PSAs enhanced trigger is not at 3.5 lbs but the ones I have are smooth and break quite predictably. I like mine more than my rra 2 stage triggers. If you order something else from psa get yourself one.

Are you going to hunt with the rifle? I hunt with bolt 308's. I moved down from my magnums for a light wt rifle and have not missed the magnums in any way.

The brown truck showed up and delivered goodies :) I'm still trying to decide what scope to go with since most of my shooting will be either from the bench or prone.

Well I have been back and forth on a scope for it. But I think I am going to get the Nikon P-308 with the BDC 800 reticle.

I bought a Nikon Prostaff 5 for my 300 win, but the 300 win is out getting a break. So until it comes back, I'm going to put the Prostaff 5 on the AR.

Tonight after work I put about another 25 rounds through it and it performed well. No malfunctions. Brass in a fairly small circle, less than 3 feet. But the trigger is still supper heavy feeling. The group was pretty big, but between only having a 5x scope on it and a rolled up flannel jacket for a rest, I guess it was about what could be expected.

PSA Enhanced trigger fits in both PA-15 and PA-10. I have one in each and like them very much. They are a big improvement over standard trigger. hard to go wrong for only $29

My PSA 308 was built with all PSA stuff, but the upper fit on my friends DPMS lower just fine. I am pretty sure PSA AR10 clones are DPMS pattern builds.

The DPMS GenII is a smaller frame than the first gen. I did a lot of research before buying mine and every where said that the bolt hold open latch and take down/pivot pins are different between DPMS and PSA. That's why I didn't mix any parts when I built mine.

I spent $319 at the gunsmith. He polished the chamber and feed ramps, worked over the trigger, got it from 6-7#'s down to 3.5. That price also includes a break on my 300 win mag.

So here is a group picture post and pre trigger job. The chamber polishing also made huge improvements in the condition of my brass. 52c6df02b8f7d2fd693b77d264736995.jpg 143d5e2fa6eb38806c3423fe11dc3f40.jpg
