Just got a package of Fiocchi .380 "Shooting Dynamics" JHPs and they all look like V-Crown bullets from Sig Sauer.

What do you think? Did the Sig V-Crown bullets bomb or are they popular enough to be loaded by other companies much like the Hornady XTP that Fiocchi [and so many others] does as well?
Any good reviews of this bullet?

Makes me wonder about Fiocchi "Shooting Dynamics" in other calibers now.

I'm not quite clear and what you're wondering about.

Bear in mind that SIG is a firearms manufacturer and don't make their own ammunition...while Fiocchi, or GFL, has long been an ammunition manufacturer

Ever think maybe Fiocchi was the ammo company making the ammo for SIG??

I really doubt they were making it themselves!!
And so far, SIG ain't saying who is making it.

I don't think the Sig V-Crown bullets are very good. Through 4 layers of denim the bullet does really well, but in bare gel the bullet flattens like a pancake and only penetrates 7 or 8 inches.

I'd rather use the Winchester Ranger "T" Series or Federal HST. Both rounds perform similarly and consistently is either bare gel or through heavy clothing.

If they are using these bullets for their other pistol calibers.

I've used their older design JHP in milk jugs and it all worked great. Hate to see it change.

I don't know, the article from luckygunner.com claims it is proprietary to Sig.

"Proprietary to Sig" is not the same as saying Sig makes the ammo. Maybe they do maybe they don't. Most likely they own the rights to the packaging, brand or whatever.

Fiochhi may have a contract with Sig to produce their ammo - much like Starline has contracts to produce brass for certain companies.
