I find myself buying all the items that I believe will be first on the chopping block in the future and lately I've been on a PDW kick or anything that resembles an SBR/SBS.

I've recently picked up a PSA AK-V and a Black Aces S-series Mini, so those are off the list. I really would love an FN P90 but I don't see that happening in the near future... or ever.

However, I can see myself with one of the following (braced models):

From my understanding, the Flux Defense includes the serialized frame and is considered a firearm. So I were to go that route, I would only have to purchase the slide, barrel and recoil assembly.

The Micro-Roni, however, is not considered a firearm. They do make a model for Beretta's APX (great ergonomics) which I already have. However, if I went this route, I would likely have to buy a G20SF as I don't currently have one and that's the platform I would like to use.

I wouldn't consider either option "inexpensive", so I'd imagine for me it's going to be one or the other because I'm also wanting

I'm leaning towards the Micro-Roni as they seem to be available whereas I'm having trouble finding the MP17.

Does anyone have experience with either or have any insight/suggestions?

If any of those get “chopped”, are you of the mind you will still get to keep them?

Both will be hard to use on the bike.:D

Definitely get the motorcycle.
I like the Flux Defense setup. Very elegant. Much less bulk.

Roni all the way, that stock on the Flux looks like a toothpick and a terrible cheek weld. Also with the Roni you're getting a pic rail and you're not stuck with RMR's, you can get any red dot or sight you want. Heck, if you wanted, you could had a dot on the top and some back up iron sights offset at 45 degrees or have a co-witness setup.

The Flux is smaller, but realistically, you're not going to ever find a holster for that and you're never going to fire it as a pistol; you will always use it as a PDW braced against your shoulder. If that's the way you're going to shoot it, you may as well get the better of the two and that's the Roni.

I don't see either of those having cheek weld and envision them used in the form of both eyes open, chest weld.

Those types of toothpicks work well in AKs and AR-PDWs.

Wouldn't the pistol sights be the back ups? (Ah, I see now. The Roni covers them.)

I agree about the rail section. I like me some tinny rail.

Good points, @TTv2 .

I disagree with the Roni, it has a lot better of a cheek weld. As to the toothpick stock for AK's, those are usually found on the folding stocks that all suck except for the Magpul Zhukov, which is the best folding stock for any AK.

I bought a Micro Roni Stab to try out and see if I liked it. The brace is a bit short, but works well enough for a cheek weld.

I eventually SBR’d a Glock, but then went with the KPOS Scout. The increased length of the real stock feels much nicer.

Neither can run a silencer without some work being done to them. I think the KPOS would require less modification.

The Flux brace appears to require no mods to run suppressed, if that’s a consideration.

The Roni is kind of wide when folded, and the brace doesn’t lock in place so it will just flop open. You also can’t shoot it with the brace folded. The brace is right in the way of the grip.

I opted to go the route of the Micro Roni (4th gen). I also changed the plans a bit and went for one compatible with a Glock 22.
I did this only because I bought a Gen 4 G22 police trade-in (night sights, one mag, no replacement back straps) for $269 off Recoil Gunworks. I also purchased a few 22 round and aftermarket 31 round magazines, the flashlight designed to be inserted in the Roni, "thumb brakes", single point sling, flip up sights and a low profile red dot.

So I guess I'm done with the PDW type firearms for a while. If I ever come across a G20SF for a good price, I may revisit that idea.

Thanks for the information, folks.
