FNAR opinions?

For the FNAR owners, or those "in the know," I've always wondered if a traditional rifle stock from a BAR would fit. Have you ever heard of or seen it done? I know I'm not the only person to have asked, but I've never heard the answer.

Don't know about the BAR stock, but I seriously doubt it. The BAR was a MUCH heavier built gun.

There was another thread on here a year or two ago where I saw a custom FN AR stock (that looked wicked good. Can't find the thread. FNAR searches turn up too many results on here.

But I found this on Google.

FN offers a match version of the rifle with a McMillan type stock. Much nicer than the fugly "stock" stock they were produced with.

There's also this option by ACE to mount a folding or collapsible stock:

And this is how they work;

The "California Compliant" version was made briefly (are they still making FNAR's? There was some stupid rumor a while back about it losing importability or something :confused:) and had a very similar stock to the BAR short track. Supposedly the short tracks slip right on, or require very minimal inletting (my guess is a model year change has them now the same; the receiver tails of both are identical as best I can tell)

Interesting. Thanks for the links. I think I've only held a standard version once, and it wasn't too bad, but I'd always thought it'd be better with a traditional stock. They look much better too.
