I'm looking to get another service pistol to go with my Sig P226 and Sig SP2022. I looked at a lot of options yesterday, but I was most impressed by the feel of the FNS-9. My assumption would be that anything made by FN would be good to go, but I've never owned one of their pistols. Where to they stack up on the quality spectrum? Can I expect these to compare favorably with my Sigs? Thanks.

I really like mine. I had an FNS-40. I only sold it because the compact version did everything the full size did, but I could carry it more easily.

I have since switched to a Glock 19 for daily carry, but it had nothing to do with the FNS and more to do with switching to 9mm for carry and finding a good deal on the Glock.

My FNS actually rides hidden in my truck in its case with two mags as a back up. It's got reasonable punch, .40 is an easy caliber to find, and the quality construction means that with just a bit of oil on it, it should be able to camp out pretty much unscathed for an indefinite period of time.

I've put over 500 trouble free rounds through the FNS. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I've had the 9C for a while, and it's one of my primary carry guns. I had a couple of FTF issues out of the box. FNS' customer service suggested that putting a couple of hundred rounds through it would solve the problem, and it did. I haven't had a malfunction since then, with thousands of rounds through it. It handles recoil well, is accurate and ergonomically it fits me well.

I also have a P226. We're comparing a striker fired compact gun to a full size hammer fired gun, so there are obvious differences, but the FNS has been every bit as reliable as the Sig. The Sig, having a longer barrel, for me is a little more accurate although the FNS is as accurate as any compact gun I own. If you're looking at the full size FNS I don't know that that will be an issue. My FNS is a keeper. I'd recommend it strongly.

I've put around 5000 rounds down range with my FNS-9 over the last year. No problems at all except for the occasional operator error. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to carry while I wear the first one out at the range.

I met a guy at IDPA that had problems with the FNS shooting low - even with the proper dot-over target, he couldn't make head shots at 20 yards because he had to aim at a point above the head.

He claimed, and I have also seen, that this seems to be a common problem with these guns, even at 7 yards.

Good guns but don't over pay, fn has dropped the MSRP, in the past and some retailers over
Charge, aftermarket is not as strong for them , but they are fn quality

I love mine. No issues whatsoever. I really like the feel in my hand. I agree with JO JO. If you look around you can find it for right at $400

Agree, I love my FNS-9. $405 out the door for a black one with night sights.

I purchased a FNS9 long slide a couple of months ago and have put approx. 1K rounds of ball through it. It has never failed to load, fire, eject and reload as it should. For my medium sized hands the ergonomics are fine. I like the rough texture grip. Accuracy is good, offhand all shots into one rough group at 7 yards.

I like.
