No.
They don't sell them as reloading component bullets.
*nod* Maybe that I need heavier bullets. I had stayed away from 147's for function. (It's a Kimber Ultra Aegis II...which have a kind of bizarre proprietary recoil spring which limits tuning options.)
But Speer Gold Dot or Hornady XTP should feed as well.
My standard range load is the old Stephen Camp load (a 126 Gr XTP, or Montana Gold as a substitute, and 5.9-6.0 Gr Unique. See the his web site for the story. ) It shoots great in a BHP or CZ75...almost the same barrel length, and identical twist. That was my accuracy load. I also shoot 125 Gr SNS coated RN loads (5.0 Gr Power Pistol) as a cheap minor practice load...but it isn't quite as accurate.
The 3" Aegis shot the Hornady CD 135 Gr. as good as I can shoot...and almost halved my Camp load that shoots so well in a BHP/CZ75.
It would have been wonderful to stick with the Stick Camp load to practice with the tiny 1911.
Frustrated? To my mind, it is a matter of philosophy and attitude. Count your blessings.
You're right. Thanks.
Yet now it is another personal challenge to be able to handload a better load for the Aegis. It is another challenge. I thought I found my 'pet' load, in the Stephen Camp load.
I try to standardize on loads, so that I know what they'll do. If you find one that works, you use it all the time, know it's trajectory and can hit steel/paper at random distances. Experimentation is great, but you also like a load that you're used to and can hit 'A's or clays with.
Yet you're right, because eventually the left, may limit my right to chase the center.
Another project isn't so bad.
Maybe I should be glad I can't find those bullets...it would be another item I'd feel compelled to stock for when I want to be accurate. (I'll carry factory, in the theory it would limit legal liability, should bad things happen.)
