Galco Concealable Belt Holster

I currently own a Crossbreed Supertuck for daily carry (Glock 19) and love it. However, I am thinking about starting IDPA and taking some firearms classes.

The point is that I need a holster that is a little bit more accessible for training / competition but I don't want something too large.

I like the look of the Galco concealable belt holster, anyone have any thoughts on it?

I'm also open to other recommendations...

others may have differing experience as the Concealable is very popular, but i found i wanting in stability on the belt.

i'd recommend a Kydex holster for the combination of competition and training. i'm currently using the Blackhawk CQC Serpa paddle holster for classes. if i throw CCW into the mix, i lean toward the Comp-Tac Settable Cant Paddle.

they both hold up well to hard use and allow very fast draws

It is a very good, comfortable holster. The detail molding to the shape of the gun is on the outside, while the inside is contoured to the shape of your hip. The draw angle is slightly greater than is typical for this kind of holster, but a large-butted gun is more concealable due to the greater tilt.

For some reason I've always had something against Kydex holsters...I've never owned one but they look too stiff and definitely a little bit "tacticool" for me

Not to say I wouldn't give one a try, but I think the leather holsters look much more professional.

However, I appreciate the input either way, thanks!

I've had good experiences with a Concealable and a SIG 226.

Match the belt size to the holster slots and you're off to the races.

i don't have any experience with the Galco Concealable, but I've seen mostly positive reviews of it on the different forums.

However, the Glock 19 seems like a natural match with a kydex holster. Kydex is a very light and secure way to carry and with the Tennifer finish on the Glock you don't have to worry much about finish wear.

I'm using a Raven Concealment Phantom for my 1911. It is a pretty flexible design, though I'll admit my 1911 is calling me to get it a leather holster.

In my leather search, I'm leaning towards a High Noon "Need for Speed" for my 1911 as it seems like it carries pretty high for concealment, but has a reinforced mouth to easily allow draw/reholstering.

I use the Galco Combat Master for my 1911's, which may be more stable than the Concealable model. But for a Glock, plastic seems to belong in plastic. I use a Fobus paddle holster for my Glock 22. Cheap and indestructable. A little hard on the finish, but who cares? It's only a Glock.
