I'm gonna join the dark side, very soon. I've read the 17 may be the most reliable, is that right?, and the 19 would be more comfortable to cc than the 17?
Which ever one I choose I want to cc it some, would these models be to big to cc?
Where is the cheapest place on the internet to buy the Glock?
Sorry for all the questions, but I've never had or bought a gun off the internet.

The 17 is no more reliable than the 19. Many people cc the 19. I just bought one two weeks ago for occasional cc, but I'll probably carry my 27 more.I'm not sure about online pricing, but if you have a local dealer that will give the GSSF membership discount, then you can get one for $425.

I bought mine for $500 with free shipping from floridagunexchange.com You can probably find them on gunbroker for less but you gotta factor in the shipping costs and then another $20 or so for a transfer fee. So (minus the transfer fee) you'll usually find them for about $500 online.

As for reliability... ALL Glocks are pretty damn reliable!
You really can't go wrong with any model (just beware of the 4th gen.)

And as for concealibility... you're better off with the 19, even better is the 26 (as you might have already guessed)

Reliabilty for both is excellent. 19 will carry better and both 17 round and 33 round mags will fit in either.

I bought a 17 first and regretted it for cc purposes.

The 19 will serve you fine.

The 19 would be better for CC in my opinion. I CC a G22 full size in a shoulder rig, which is fine for me, but many of my friends prefer the compact models for CC. Any glock you choose will serve you well, but if I were you, I'd avoid the Gen4 models for the time being as they seem to be working the bugs out still, just my opinion.

As a recently assimilated first-time glock owner, I say get a 19.

Why?

I bought a gen4 17 because I absolutely loved the grip feel compared to other glocks. Many current glock owners say they can't tell much of a difference. To me, that hump was less defined and it just felt better. The 17 shot like a champ with no issues for 500 rounds before I sold it.

I sold it because it was too big. It felt great in my hands and handled wonderfully, but I could only carry it as an open carry piece or leave it in the safe or nightstand at night. It was very fun to shoot, though.

I'm holding out for the gen4 19. I'll take the risk on it even though to hear some people talk, it will be so unreliable it may kaboom during shipment. I like the 19 as-is. If glock reduces that hump just a bit as they did on the gen4 17, I'm sure I'll like it that much more. I hope they hurry, because I'm currently glock-less.

I'm in the process of debating on the G19 or HK USP compact in 9mm. I do have the G23, which is identical to the G19 except caliber, and can testify that it will digest anyting I've to date tried in it whether it's 135 gr Corbon +P, Ranger 155 gr, Ranger T 165 gr, Gold Dots, etc. I can only surmise the G19 is just as good.

Glock Gen4

Are yall saying the newest gen4 there making now have bugs in them, and may not be up to snuff with past models.
If I bought a Glock now it would be a gen4 right, or can I buy a new one that is not a gen4

There are many Gen 3 G19's on the market and their prices are dropping.

If you want to save further and afford more ammo look for a refurbished police trade in, or just buy a used one.

The reliability will be the same. There have been reports of issues with the Gen4.

Any new design or redesign will have bugs. Many feel it's best to wait and let others suffer the quirks.

I would go with the G19 if i were you. For cc, the sight radius is negligible considering that if there were to be a shootout, it wouldn't be very far in terms of cc. If your worried then about velocity in terms of .5'' diff with barrel length, you can always get a longer, protruding barrel that will extend your G19 to a full size G17 barrel length.

Glock parts are cheap because their plentiful; a good quality barrel will cost only around $200 or less.

For conceal carry I find the sub compact Glocks such as the G26, G27, and G33 the way to go. Started out CC with a 1911 than a G17 years ago. Than went to a G19. found there was times I was not carrying because of the size. When the G27 came out years ago I bought one. Never did carry the G19 or G17 again.

there should be no difference in reliability in these models.

the G19 should be easier to conceal, and with proper equipment and dress, concealment can be done.

i don't know the best internent source to purchase from.

The 19 is a very easy to conceal gun. I wear one in a clip IWB under just a tshirt quite a bit with none the wiser. It's accurate and fun to shoot at the range, encouraging plenty of practice. I recommend it highly.

You should really pick them up and see. The grooves on the G19 are cut a bit on the small side for some.

No.
The G17 is no more reliable than any other Glock.

As a general rule, a smaller and lighter weight handgun is easier to conceal than a heavier and larger handgun.

Which ever one I choose I want to cc it some, would these models be to big to cc?
You can conceal a shotgun if you really tried, but why make it harder than it has to be?
Get a Glock sub-compact and you'll be happy.

Where is the cheapest place on the internet to buy the Glock?
I don't know.
But I'll bet the folks over on GlockTalk will be able to steer you in the right direction.

Good luck,

I'm in the market for a either a 17 or 19 as well. I think that if I wasn't going to carry, it's definitely gonna be a 17. But if I'm going to carry occasionally, it's definitely going to be the 19.

The Glock 19 is an "all-around" handgun, significantly easier to conceal than the 17 while still being able to perform police/security duty, open carry or home/shop defense with little loss of shooting qualities.

Agreed. Besides, a slightly longer barrel length only adds miniscule amount of additional fps. And the slightly additional sight radius means little to nothing as well, especially in terms of cc.

Go with what's more comfortable: lighter, shorter, slender....

I am also holding out on a 4th gen G19. The 3rd gens' textures on the frame really bites into my hands after 100+ rounds.
