Hey All,
Wanted to post a short range report on my G26 Gen4 with a test-fire date of Aug 2011. This pistol has the 336 ejector. The finish is kind of blackish/greyish, and rough to the touch. Seems like I wipe it down and it drys out very quickly. I like the feel and good grip of the slide finish, and will see how well it holds up to sliding in and out of kydex/leather hybrid holster. (I run my guns hard, but do like a nice clean finish..)

I field-stripped and cleaned and lubed before the range visit.
I installed a new Ameriglo ProGlo front sight, but left the stock rear sight (more on that later).

I only fired a total of 230 rounds on this initial range trip, but after installing my new Ameriglo Pro Operator rear sight (arrived after my range visit today...), I will be back at the range later this week.

Ammo fired today: 115gr WWB (100 rounds)
124gr Remington UMC (100 rounds)
124gr Speer Gold Dot short barrel (30rounds)

I started with the 124gr Remington ammo.
Within the first 30 rounds, I experienced a stovepipe jam.
Within the first 100 rounds, I experienced 2 empty brass landing on the top of my head, as well as 1 ejected brass to the face.

The brass to the head did not bother me, and the stovepipe was cleared instantly with a corrective action drill.
Here is a photo of my very first shots with this weapon, from about 7 or 8 yards away. Fired about one round per second, standing still.

I went on to the WWB ammo, and experienced zero malfunctions, with some erratic ejection patterns, but again, this does not bother me. NO failure to feed or eject is the most important thing to me.

I cleaned and lubed after 200 rounds, and then fed 30 Gold Dot short barrel through the pipe. Could be my imagination, but it seemed like the Gold Dot ejected in a nice pattern, and I did not experience any more brass to the head or face.

Overall, a very satisfying experience with my Gen4 subcompact. I am installing the new rear sight tonight, and will post more range results as they occur.

Great pictures and report. Thanks for sharing information regarding this fine carry gun.

glad to hear your happy with it. glocks a good gun. not to my taste but youll never hear me knock them.

Thanks for the review...I'm also looking into a G26 for a CCW. I'm thinking more of a Gen3 for reliability purposes but either way something I will consider heavily.

Do you find the recoil manageable? I have a G17 and love the longer grip...not sure I would like going to a small G26 since I have large hands. I know they make extenders but if I used those I might as well get a 19

I find recoil amazingly manageable!
Nice to return to 9mm after a long time with .40

The G26 is concealable because of the stubby grip...
which is why I love it.
G26 works for large hands....without extensions.
Fat grip and extra backstraps=fit for large hands.

If great concealment is your aim, G26 is for you!

I have larger hands and I use the largest backstrap on my Gen 4 Glock 26. Feels great. I had the same ejection and stove pipe issues. I sent it in and they installed the new ejector and extractor. I've had it out a few times now with out any issues.

If you want a G26 go Gen 4. All new stock comes with the correct extractor and ejector.

IDK...we'll see. Might just go with a Gen3 and deal with the grip. I'm going to try to find a range that has one I can shoot and go from there.
