Glock 48/43X Durability

I passed 5000 rounds through my EDC 43X about 2 weeks ago, and I can't recall any problems or issues with the pistol. I have 3 OEM 10 rounders, 4 Shields (2x MkI and 2x MkII), and a pair of ETS 19 round mags. All work flawlessly and the practical accuracy is excellent. Short of any problems beforehand, I plan to do a rebuild at about 10,000 rounds.
Not a "Glock-Guy", it's really the only Glock I've ever bought for myself. Might have to get another 43X...just 'cuz I can.

There is at least one Glock 17 with a documented 300,000+ rounds through it with no major parts breakage. I don't really expect a smaller gun like the G48 or G43 to match that. But I'm betting I'll not live long enough to break my G43.

That said I like the Sig 365 a little better. I've had zero issues with either of them.

I have the 43X, 365 and Hellcat and all are great pistols. No failures in either of them in the last 2 years and I shoot them quite often. Even rotate them in my summer carry.

And one thing I didn't see yet in this discussion...if anything does happen to your Glock, they will fix it for you...I've never know Glock to turn down their guns or charge for repairs.

I talked with the Glock armorers instructor about this topic briefly. The smaller models do have a shorter expected life than the full size guns. But it's still 10s of thousands of rounds.

The only Glocks with a "short" expected service life are the Gen 2/3 .40 caliber models. The Gen 4 had several features to help extend the service life and the Gen 5 went even further. Even then the Glock rep told us they expect a Gen 2/3 .40 to go at least 10k rounds before needing major parts replacement.
