I have shot Glocks so much, that the Glock grip angle feels natural now. I'm tinkering with this Taurus I got today, and in a quick drill, which I practice for IDPA, I point the gun to the ground. LOL

So, I think I will just stick with Glocks, maybe buy a 26 or 17 next.

The point of this post, are there those that can swtich back and forth between Glocks and other tradtional grip angled guns? I don't just mean at the range, that is different, I man close your eyes, point and see if you are where you think you should be. Quick target acqusition.

What is the saying? "Beware the man with one gun...."

What you are saying makes sense. All the top shooters do their shooting with one gun...they don't switch from event to event. Pointability, grip position, recoil, trigger...all can change and effect practical accuracy.

I don't doubt that the best shooters in the world can learn pretty much any gun...but they choose not to. They choose to become proficient with one or two guns for their different competitions.

By the way, I think the "perfect" grip angle is a myth....as is the people that think they can't get used to the grip angle on a Glock. You can learn to get comfortable with any handgun. Just look at some of the amazing point shooting done with buckhorn gripped single actions.

This is why one should get comfortable with the gun they carry and put a lot of rounds through it. You don't want to become proficient with one gun and carry another you rarely shoot.

And I'm totally opposite from you. I had a Glock 22 for years and said I loved it and it never had a misfire, ftf, or fte and it was shot a lot. Then I picked up a Smith M&P and my shooting improved on the IDPA almost instantly. I sold the Glock, I hope the M&P is as reliable, so far so good.

I could get used to their new SF offerings, but their "normal" grip angles are still screwy. And if I got used to their SF offerings, then yeah, I would swap back-and-forth.
