I've owned and carried 1911s, Sigs, HKs, CZs, Hi-Powers, and Glocks. All I have right now are Glocks. I guess I like em well enough.

You can't miss 18 times and expect to win a gunfight - remember, the Miami Dade FBI massacre was won not by a high capacity autoloader, or even a shotgun, but a simple, six shot .38 Special, aimed by a competent shooter.

Not completely accurate. It was fought with the good guys using autoloaders, shotguns and revolvers. It was finished by Morales, using a shotgun at first and, when that went dry, a revolver.

Realistically, it was finished by Morales' attitude. The particular type of weapon by which that attitude was implemented is largely meaningless, as it usually is.

Oh gee golly willikers Batman! Since when did Sig make a 10mm platform, like the Glock 20 and its smaller brother Glock 29? I must've missed that somewhere down the road...
Whoever has "ugly" as one of the reasons for not picking a Glock, is truly immature, imo.

Same poster

I picked other because I don't like the way Glocks point for me.

Glock fan boys - thats not a knock on your precious Glocks.

I just don't understand why you Glockers are so sensitive

And I can never understand why all Glock users get lumped into a category and treated with derision.

Probably because most (not all) Glockers act like anyone who doesn't think that Glocks are the greatest invention known to mankind, don't know a thing about guns.

I don't knock anyone who likes or shoots Glocks. Glocks are obviously great weapons that serve a purpose.

I like and shoot Sigs.
I don't get all upset and defensive if someone posts that Sigs suck, its simply their opinion.

And there you have the difference between the refined gun owner that buys and shoots a top quality firearm like Sig Sauer vs the unwashed masses who shoot the Walmart version of firearms.

It was Edward Mireles not Morales.

And the shotgun blasts did little, despite being at proper shotgun range.

However, of most the rounds fired by FBI agents with their autoloaders, most rounds were misses or ineffectual peripheral hits.

Mireles wasn't able to score center hits with his shotgun either, due to his arm being permanently crippled by a rifle hit. He was, however, able to control and fire his 3 inch Model 13 single-handedly and get the necessary center hits needed to end the conflict.

It's not even most. It's a small, vocal, angry minority of Glock owners. I like Glocks. I like SIGs. I love Berettas 'n' 1911's and God help me, I adore HK's. I certainly wouldn't throw myself under a bus if forced to pack a Glock 19 (though I'd consider it for any .40 caliber Glock).

I pick NO GLOCK because I've known quite a few people who thought they were so called "super reliable" only to find out when they had actually needed it, under addrenaline, founded out that they had accidentally limp-wristed it and had it jammed (and yes, the glock DOES jam when you limp-wrist it, go out and TRY IT if you dont believe me). Being reliable should mean it'll feed under any circumstances and my auto has always been proven to work no matter the conditions. But other than that, I think they're wonderful plastic looking guns.

I voted Glock because if I could only have one handgun, it would have to be a Glock. I carry my Kahr more though so if I could have two, those would be my choices. Glocks are a little big sometimes but I'd suffer (and often do) for the firepower.

1911's are what you show your friends...Glocks are what you show your enemies

Glock makes one of the best 10mm's on the market....except for my Dan Wesson RZ 10 :)

Picked other because I'm an HK fanatic, as my name may suggest :D

I'm probably going to order an HK45 sometime this week - I'm extremely excited for it to come in!

HK G3: I am also HK fanatic when it comes to MP5 or G3 or HK91! But with pistols I am a hardcore Glock man, since my disappointment with P2000. I am not sure it was the load or the pistol since its slide consistant failed to rest back at its position after fire. I was using +P ammo.

I'm sometimes a little mystified when folks seem inclined to treat the selection of a suitable lawful defensive weapon as anything other than what it is ...

In the spirit of choosing an option on this poll I chose 'Not' for the simple reason that I only own a pair of Glocks among the many other personally-owned firearms which see usage as off-duty weapons, and I certainly don't always choose one or the other of them.

I just 'voted' according to what's represented, by simple numbers, among my personal collection. More 'others' are represented in my collection.

When it comes to a defensive weapon I generally choose according to my perceived needs and desires on any given day, which is often based on planned activities, anticipated potential situations, personal comfort, clothing worn and even how long I'll be away from home, just to list some considerations. Sometimes it may even be influenced by which weapon has seen the most usage for training within that 1-2 week period ... (or maybe which one is clean, what with the amount of shooting I often do as an instructor :scrutiny: ).

I generally choose my footwear for many of the same reasons, if it matters ... and I'm not a footwear 'brand faithful' kind of fellow, either, FWIW.

Hyb, I've done it already, and my Glock never jammed up. Sorry to disappoint ya. There're others (you can find it on GlockTalk.com if you want) who've purposely limped their wrist to the point of almost letting the gun fly out of their hand, when holding a Glock and shooting, and it never jammed.

There're people that say their guns screw up on this, on that, on whatever... but who knows if their gun was screwed up by someone else before them? Maybe accidentally putting an internal part in wrong after attempting to detail-strip and clean their Glock, or whatnot.

I've read a few posters saying how their Glock screwed up, only to later find out it was because they did something to it to make it screw up.

This is how bad rumors start, or turns off new shooters because they don't know any better.

For the poster that quoted my two posts above: There's a difference between kidding around with sarcasm, and being totally immature. Learn the difference. ;)

G21

Firepower! Just placed an order for Glock 21!

EXCELLENT !! :D

What is this complaint about the Glock grip angle. I find the grip angle more natural for me. I think the grip angle complaint is highly overexaggerated. Something else for Glock haters to complain about. I know plenty of people who can shoot a Glock and then shoot a 1911, Sig, just as accurate.

And yet there are youtube videos that show just that, limp wristing Glock jams more than any other pistol tested. The tester set out to disprove the idea that limp wrisitng caused jams. He tested several weapons including a Glock and as I recall, the Glock was the only one that jammed REPEATEDLY. Not a fluke at all.

In fact, I think the original discussion that brought about the test was here in THR.
