Also received a nice New Testament Pocket Bible along with the order. Thank you.

Here are some photos.

Looks like a slammer to me. These are .431 compared to the .430 I ordered last. When putting these in the cylinder holes, they fit much tighter, but still push through easily. I am really hoping they shoot well. They are 250 grain WFN GC, and should be a good hunting boolit. Cost is pretty much the same as Jacketed, but I want an all lead boolit that will be accurate an put big holes in animals, and give me quick kills. Also I want one boolit for whitetail, wild bore, coyote, mountain lion, and a good all around woods boolit.

Anyone got a pet load for this projectile? I am going to be using 2400, and thinking of starting with 18.5 and work to 20.0 grains. Shooting from a rest this time.

I need sleep. I was sitting here trying to figure out what rifle cartridge would fling that bullet. It didn't occur to me until I hit up Midway's website that the bullets were for a 44mag. Having never even shot a 44mag, I'm only mildly embarrased.

^^ Sounds like .44mag to me. (But there are others, of course)

Looks like a nice bullet. I'll keep Beartooth on my "in" list. Wish I could help with the load, but I traded my Blackhawk a long time ago and don't load .44 any more.

Yes, they are for my .44 Magnum Ruger Super Blackhawk 5.5" barrel.

11.0 Grain Unique shows promise at 25 yards

I know that 11.0 grains shows as max on Alliants sight, but I had zero signs of over pressure in my gun. None of the primers where
cratered, the rims were not thinned, and the case extracted very easily.

Here is a pic of a 5 shot group. There was a similar group of 5 shots shot later on in the day. These were shot with the revolver resting on sandbags.

The 2400 loads were bad.

I thought "boolits" were lead bullets that you cast yourself? But I guess as long as they are "lead bullets" they could be called boolits.

Wait, is that gas check I see at the base of the bullet? :D

What is a "Boolit"?

Boolits = as God laid it into the soil, grand old Galena, the Silver Stream graciously hand poured into molds for our consumption.

Bullets = Machine made utilizing Full Length Gas Checks as to provide projectiles for the masses.

The "term" boolits is starting to spread, it is also a nice way to differentiate quickly what/which we are discussing.

I bought those hard-lead bullets in manufactured ammo. A 440g 500 Magnum. The thing nearly broke my arms shooting it, and they were the first cartridges I shot when the 500 was new. I was a bit afraid to shoot the gun, those things were really wild!

Anyway, I was shooting into the base of a Poplar tree trunk. After shooting, I noticed that several made it all the way through 14" of Poplar wood, and one of the bullets just happened to be stuck, just coming out of the bark on the far side. I carefully cut the bark away and retrieved the bullet. That bullet looked EXACTLY the same as the OEM bullets after going through 14" of Pople! The only difference being there were rifling grooves in the bullet, it was so good I could have re-loaded it and shot it again if I wanted!

I am convinced with that bullet and those (I believe they were CorBon) loads, the 500 Magnum (4" barrel) will absolutely "kill anything on the planet" - just as S&W advertizes the gun.

Since then I have reloaded for the beast and have calmed down the load a bit to something I can at least not break a wrist over! I am loading various Barnes X Pistol Bullet (XPB) and the one I really like is the 275 grain Barnes Pistol X Bullet! I can, at least, pull some kind of group with that! I shot into water with it and it went through 30" of water before coming to a stop with one of its razor pedals stuck into the plastic on the opposite side of the large outdoor Rubbermaid trash can! The entire front of the trash can (which was filled to the top with water) was opened right up with about a 24" slice down from the top. I definately got a shower and was instantly soaked! I was standing perhaps 6' away when I shot the can full of water!

I call these my flying ashtrays.

I thought boolits were none jacketed bullets. Big deal? :)

No big deal :) - some casters at Cast Boolits like to use the term as an endearing word to describe hand casted lead bullets.

I'd be proud of these too :D
