Our country is in serious financial trouble yet we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars overseas defending other countries.

Those other countries are not in debt, they have lower tax rates than we do, they have their national defense subsidized by us.

Many of those countries of course have restrictive gun laws on their citizens.

I see this as a serious problem for us, if I have to choose between subsidizing the national defense of another country or spending the money on a local trauma center, the local trauma center.

I propose that we tell other countries that they need to defend their own country and suggest that they consider adapting either the Swiss or Israeli arms policies.

Any thoughts.

Sounds good to me, but it ain't likely to happen. Those countries aren't anymore likely to lightn up on their gun restrictions than ours is.Besides, when we're footing the bill for most of,say,Japans defense costs, there's considerable economic incentive to let things continue like they are.

I totally agree but I would no like having to complete my 2-3 weeks a year but I would gladly do it though!!!
