Although this link is advertised as a mix of political cartoon advocating for both pro gun control AND pro gun rights viewpoints, it is almost exclusively devoted to anti-gun cartoons. It is instructive, however, to look these polticial cartoons over to get an idea of how many in the media establishment see us and how they want to propagandize others to see us.

dribble?

one must observe the enemy if one wants to counter them effectively.

Scrolled through ALOT of them. Now you understand how you as gun owners/NRA members are viewed and sterotyped. If your not outraged, you should be.

i don't need to roll around in a pile of poo to know it is poo :)

and i (like most?) know what to do with poo

#31 is sick, as in the person who drew it is disturbed.
If you're referring to the one that spells NRA in dead kids ya that was disgusting. Shows you how far these people will go when they see an opportunity.

I went through them all, definitely more anti than pro but a few funny ones in there.

the sandy hook kids in the shape of N R A ?

yea. that was one of several that were signs of a disturbed mind. hopefully they've sought some form of treatment.

I thought the first one was kind of funny. printer literally spits a gun out? where do I buy THAT! :D

This one sums up the gun control lobby:

Good post; worth a glance to know the opposition, indeed. Some of them displayed an astonishing amount of ignorance on the topic, but that's the 1A.

I sort of liked this one:

I think we all feel one innocent death is too many, even if from a legal gun. We have to realize this is a big fund raiser for the Democrats. But they are fine with kill babies that were born alive. Yet the legal and ethical gun owners probably do more to protect the innocent against gun violence then does all the medical and politicians for the unborn. Think we find more unborn are murdered and endorsed to be than guns are use to.

Okay. This is just sick... and these are the same people who wanted a "rational debate..." They can insert all of this (with the exception of the few noted pro-gun examples) firmly up their... :cuss:

I'm done now.

I understand your disgust, I am a proud and new member to the NRA and I would be hard pressed to keep my cool if I knew I was standing in front of the "artist" of some of those cartoons. ( I'm talking to you, Horsey) But these are political cartoons and they are meant as satire, and propeganda. While wildly off base and ignorant bordering on sick, they are also PURPOSEFULLY insulting, extreme, and combative. I would hesitate to say that these cartoons represent wholly and entirely the mindset of the majority of the opposition. It is obvious that Horsey, and a few others are willfully ignorant of facts and statistics and agenda driven to the point of drawing direct falsehoods in their cartoons....but that does not mean the majority wouldn't be receptive of the proper facts and figures presented in a reasonable way. Unfortunately, MSM is the only voice most people hear, and MSM is most certainly anti.

I would endorse/support the same criteria for voting as buying a handgun from a licensed dealer ! Think about it ! >MW

Interesting that the only ones that presented facts were not anti... should make people think. It won't.

Makes the blood boil but its good to read, er, look at. If anyone thinks the two sides can sit down and have rational and meaningful discussions about this issue need look no further than these cartoons and the true opinions from the anti side on gun ownership. Thanks for sharing.

Do you think the Post would run a sketch of bloody fetuses spelling "Planned Parenthood"? I've only seen the combination of vitriol and ignorance displayed in most of these in old Jim Crow cartoons from the Bad Old Days depicting the last "undesirables" group. I had no idea all gun owners were Chris Christie :fire:. And when's the last time you saw red blood in any political cartoon on any issue? That right there raises my eyebrows--straight up makes me think of blood libel.

Here's a good one I found randomly today

Nah, that's way too busy--no one will take the time to read that . I wish they'd pass out a copy of that for Senators to read with their Highlights Magazine during the hearings, though.

*Note that the girl running the selling the printer service for firearms who is killed/robbed, was herself, unarmed. Makes me think more of the "guns vs plowshares" debate than gun control. Note also that the gun was magically printed with ammo inside it :D. How many folks each year sneak bullets into gunshows so they can pop 'em in and rob the joint? :D :D

Amazing how THEIR 1st A rights should never be stopped, but ours are never to be heard.

Cartooning is an artform that is (often unfairly) maligned as simplistic and childish.

Political cartooning, on the other hand, is not only simplistic and childish, it's an artform practiced by people who haven't been potty trained.

Real humor is funny because it is based upon a truth. As has been pointed out, the cartoons that are not really funny have no element of truth within them but instead are intended as propaganda to incite the ignorant masses.

It seems to be getting worse in recent years; check out how any prominent politician is disfigured into an unrecognizable blimp or burnt matchhead. I can't even tell who they're supposed to be lampooning, and these guys call themselves "artists" (and highly intellectual ones, at that)
