Do any of you have contact information for gunbroker forums?
I have not been able to log on in months.
I can log onto my profile page but not the forums.
Hard to get them to fix that if I can't contact them.
Thanks

I found that if one goes to the "New Search Tutorial" on Gunbroker there is an opportunity at the top of the page to click on "Make a Request". That function enables you to send a message to whoever it is that reciaves such things for a website like Gunbroker ... probably won't do any good to complain , but it feels good to do so.

I have done that and got no help.
I did get someone from the auction side and after a couple weeks he finally said he only deals with the auction not the forums.

You are right
I got a robo response which was meaningless
Waste of time.

Perhaps Gunbroker is going the way of the NFL --- thinking that they can screw up the brand every which way from Sunday and we will just keep coming back. ..

Website redesigns generally have more to do with what's going on behind the scenes than with what the reader sees. Staff changes, licenses expire, tools and technologies deprecate, security concerns emerge and evolve, and sometimes things must change - even be rebuilt from scratch - before they cease to function. And then there's the ever-increasing necessity for sites to be mobile friendly...

Maintaining the status quo sometimes comes with a substantial cost that can't be overlooked by those in a position to see it. Very few businesses spend the money to redesign a working system on a whim.

Which is not to criticize or dissuade anyone from being Grumpy Gun Guys, Grousing Greatly. That's part of the natural order of things.

Change is inevitable guys. Get use to it.
It wasn't all that long ago it was changed from the original format. I heard the same complaints then as I do now.

I have resigned myself to the concept that anything/everything available on a computer screen is going to change. Sometimes just for the sake of change. (Think Autodesk.... :cuss:)

Pauli is right, of course. At the same time, there can be an effort to fix what's going on on the back end while maintaining a good deal of the look and feel.

I usually check GB every day or so. Unless you use "List", it takes forever to get through it. Since the change, I've been using very narrow search parameters so I don't have to wade through all the junk.

When I see change I just shrug and move through it or I pick it up and put it in my pocket..

:)I think you guys are semi Luddites.

I think that there is a distinction to be made between calling a new format what it is - crappy , sucks , a step backwards , etc. ... - and starting a movement to smash all the computers and revert to carrier pigeons.

It's not actually true that people hate change. You never hear people grousing about how their new cell phone battery lasts longer or their new car gets better gas mileage. What people fear is loss, and this new search represents a real loss in functionality. It is a step backwards.

Very nicely summed up - thank you! I feel that is exactly what I was thinking, but just did not realize there were words to express it so well.

I'm in favor of that. I'd miss you all though...........

Who is starting a movement to smash all computer?

I used to browse and sometimes buy on GunBroker. Haven't looked at it in a while. Just went to the site and logged in. Not too impressed with the format change.
When THR changed it's format, I didn't like it immediately, but have grown to like it with use over time. This site is easier to use now.
Not sure the GunBroker format is better for the end user. It's changed and if I choose to use it I will adapt.

GGGGG here.
I Have been through at least 3 changes on GB that I remember. That said if they want to keep many then they need to make it more user friendly to those of us on computers IMHO. A permanent revert would go a long way to that end. I am sure that this was to work better with mobile devices and add advertising "depth*" to your searches. Me personally, I slowed my use last change and see it happening yet again this time. I may not even bother use it at some point if it gets too annoying. Still, there are others that are happy it is going the route it is. Their site their program my choice to use.:scrutiny:

* avoided using "diversity" there;).
