Not financially, but literally...
Nearly a year ago I discovered that my credit card company offered a service with which they would create a card for you with a picture or design you make on it. Just for 'gits & shiggles' I submitted one of my then better gun pictures to see if they might put it on a card for me. I figured they wouldn't, if for nothing else than the nature of the photo. Especially since they had some rather strict rules about what they'd accept and decline.
Anyway, I submitted a photo and never received any response. They said they would e-mail me if the photo was declined and I figured if they accepted it, I'd get a new card with my picture on it shortly thereafter. Neither happened. I figured my submission got 'swept under the rug' or lost in space, and when I didn't get a response I just let it go and never thought about it again.
My card was set to expire this month and I received the new one in the mail today. I'd been expecting it and was actually getting a bit concerned that I hadn't gotten a replacement, but I wasn't expecting to get a card with a photo of my CCW piece on it.
Now, I figured you folks would get a kick out of this, so I've attached a photo of the card to the post. Just so y'all know I've done a quick Photoshop job on it to remove the particulars, so there are some spots that may look blemished, but it's just where I've edited my name and account number out. The picture on the card itself is flawless. And I left one of the card number digits in place so you can get a feel for the look/placement of them.
All in all, I really like the card, but I kind of wish that it had one of my more recent and better quality photos on it. This one is still fairly nice, though. It's rather simple, and looks quite good on the card, I think.
The card, by the way, is the NRA Visa card offered through First National Bank of Omaha.
So with that, here it is...
