This is a pretty bold statement. However a careful look around and a realization of true it is, will come. I'm not talking abuot the up and coming elections. I'm talking about our schools. The drivel and lies our schools teach. An example. An adopted neice of mine completely spazzed on me for owning guns while having children. That she learned in school every gun owner who has a child has dead kids. Every child in a household with even one gun will die from that gun. They are teaching our children how to be left wing citizens. They are not teaching the facts, and letting our kids decide for themselves, they are forcing our children to be Democrats. To the pro2a Democrats, you are the exception to the rule and this is in no way meant to smear you, but you have to realize the tactics your political party uses to ban firearms.

This is not an if, this is a when. When these kids in school are of voting age, they will support strict gun control, because that is what they are taught in school. Even most of our colelges did it. My wife was harassed, and failed, by her college english instructor, because my wife had a pro-gun view. I took the issue to the dean who was also a leftist, and a pacifist, who recommended changing our opinions to avoid conflict. That of course set me ablaze. I told him to his face, that I, have been harassed by this same isntructor as have many other students, that my wife should nothave to put up with it, and that I will not put up with it. I demanded that he deal with it IMMEDIATELY, that there would be no avoidance of conflict, that if this illegal practice was not dealt with I would take it up with the board of education. Not 5 mintues after we left his office, his door was locked and he wasn in the hall outside of said isntructors classroom having a discussion with her. For the rest of my wife's class with her, the harassment stopped, but nothing else did.

Both I and my wife were attending the same college, and the same program, I was 3 quarters ahead of her though. During the re-elections this instructor stopped class and refused to teach because of the protests down in the streets below because of Bush being re-elected. She stated that we will not be participating in class during the protests as a way to show support. That we all needed to register to vote, and register and vote Democrat, to keep the murderous and lying republicans out of office who want your kids to kill themselves with guns laying around, and who want criminals to shoot up your children, and all sorts ofother drivel. Several students walked out, and were expelled for doing so.

The far left has dug deep into our colleges as well. While we are fighting in congress, the left keeps the fight there to distract us, while their ranks file up into the education system and infiltrate it completely. They know they can't win a face to face campaign, so they are using our children against us, by brainwashing them into the left wing view as being 100% fact, and anythig opposite as being lies. That the left doesn't need facts, because everyone knows what they are saying is true. That the facts of the right wing, are manufactured. They teach that everything a Democrat says is the truth. Everything a republican says is a lie. I'm not right or left, nor do I ride the line. Both sides are scumbags in my opinion, that can only do half the job. Our best bet for this country on all issues is Ron Paul. He doesn't havea snowballs chance in hell. The absolute worst case scenario is Hillary Clinton, who will with one fell swoop in aobut one years time destroy everything our country stands for, and she has a damn good chance of making it into office. If Hillary wins the primaries we are done. She will be elected. If Obama wins the oprimaries he may or may not be elected. However Hillary no matter what happens will continue on her agenda even if she is proven wrong. If sheis proven wrong, she percieves those who have done so as her enemy and her enemies are to be destroyed. Obama is inexperienced, and still has that naievity of wanting to please public to further his career instead of the art of lying and smokescreening. At least so far, but he will learn fast. The rest of the republican candidates are really wolves in sheeps clothing. They all support the "assault weapon ban, and extended it to cover more then triple the firearms and features(which is why my home just went and picked up an AR-15 with tax money since it's going to be our last chance). Make no mistake one way or another the brady bill will be expanded, and renewed. The entire political system is being flooded with the left, and left thinking right. Combine this with the infiltration of our childrens minds, and our fight is lost.

I'm not saying that we stop the fight. Quite the contrary. Many left will vote against gun control out of fear of losing their positions. Just ask some of the left wing politicians in Oregon, who have recieved as they have put it rabid and vile letters from Oregon Gun Owners at the request of Kevin Starret, who they also described as being INCREDABLY effective, and as a result voted against gun control despite their personal views of being for gun control.

In addition, I realize that people who claim to take the high road and if a massive 100% ban happens like in Australia, to just give up your guns and don't physically resist. Remember, that physical resistance is WHY this country exists as a country instead of a British Colony. Not resisting is why Australia and Canada are still under some sort of British Control.

You're from Portland, Oregon

That's why you've had all that in schools and all that talk around you. I'm from Utah, which is mostly Republican (although I'm registered Independent). I went to Portland, OR for one summer. They were some of those most liberal people I've seen. They hate Wal-Mart, they love anything that's green. Many of them were big on pot and many hippie like. They were constantly and constantly talking about how they hate George Bush and that the world's coming to an end unless he changed or someone else gets put into office. They'd be like, "You're from Utah? They're mostly Republican over there?" Not everyone everywhere has those views on firearms across the country.

Both Obama and Hilary are for an assault weapons ban? But isn't Obama also for a national ban on concealed carry?

You're just on the dirty end of the state. Come southwest a couple of hundred miles and you'll find the kids signing up for hunter safety in grammar school.:neener: The stupid attitudes of your teachers in the Portland metro area are mostly the fault of the phreaks and pharies that live there and allow and or encourage it. Take a stand and be part of the solution, don't sit back and bewail what you see as inevitable, it isn't.

Since you mention both schools and firearms, I though I'd chime in. With the Republicans and Democrats constantly abusing federal power, with federal control of issues that are obviously state issues, it's time for a "States Bill of Rights" and a series of amendments.

It's far easier to regain gun rights by having the community you live in define the "safe" in "public safety." A States Bill of Rights would reverse and curtail federal overreach which would include gun control and a great number of other issues such as the education of our children.

If California wants to ban conceal carry, semiautomatic firearms, etc. that's for the people of California to decide. The people of California should not, however, decide how the people of Texas, or the people of Georgia, or the people in a great number of other states live.

I mention California since a lot of farcical bills are sponsored from Congressmen from that state.

We're the United States of America. We are not the United Republicans of America or the United Democrats of America.

I'm proud to say I'm from South Dakota where guns are second nature. In a recent news article the Brady Bunch were very concerned about South Dakota because in their rating of states in regard to gun control South Dakota out of a possible score of 100 has a score of 6. We are going to try for 0 this year. The Brady bunch stated that they would be coming to South Dakota to speak in regard to our lax gun control laws. I am sure they will go home with their tail between their legs. I realize that this does little to halt the tide of gun control but there are people who are not going to give up their guns and I am proud that South Dakota has taken the stand that it has.........#*#*# the Brady Bunch.

I'm a teacher in a very blue state... but my kids don't get the drivel that you speak of. of course, i happen to be enlightened. ;)

if you are disgusted by the crap being taught in schools, befriend a teacher and take him or her shooting. as the teachers turn, so will the students.

otherwise, you'd risk simply creating a vague straw man for all the arrows of our frustrations.

Guns WILL be banned, and banned soon.
While I understand the OP's frustration, every time I hear a rant like this I ponder the following facts.

From 1986 to now the right to carry has been steadily advancing.
1) 48 states now issue concealed weapon permits and 39 of them operate as "shall issue".
2) NO state that has gone to “Shall Issue” has reversed it’s decision.
3) 24 States permit some form of “open carry” and right now only about 13 require any sort of permit to do so.
4) Reciprocity between states has been increasing as the rules and regulations move towards a standard.
5) Several States have begun to remove restrictive legislation and some that were recently passed may fail as “unenforceable”.

As to the attitudes being trained into our kids by schools… that’s where we, as parents, must step forward and DO OUR JOBS. Prejudice against gun owners is just that, PREJUDICE and if a school “claims” to teach tolerance and understanding but persecutes on the basis of firearms ownership then we must be sure to point out that hypocrisy to our children. It’s good training because they will face plenty of hypocrisy in their lives and must be taught to recognize it regardless of the source.

The gun banners have lost the war on guns and I think they realize it, now they’ve shifted tactics to ammunition and that, my friends, will be the next battlefield. Be prepared, the Hoplophobes will never quit (they can’t, they are driven by an obsession) so we must never turn our backs on them.

My mom is a teacher. When a teacher friend suggested I date a single coleague, my mom chimed in with "she cant date him he owns guns." It really is that bad amongst our educators.

Educators are there to educate your children NOT raise them. THere seems to be a lot of confusion on this issue. THere are many parents who expect the schools to teach morals and "life lessons". Johnny can't read because the parents want too much other s--- taught. My wife had too teach 1 week on Martin Luther King. George Washington gets less than a paragraph. Anyone who complains that their children are getting brainwashed in school have no one but themselves to blame. My now 9 y/o son has hunted with me many times. When he gets to be 10 he even gets to have a shotgun:). No teacher has ever said anything negative to him when he talked about hunting and I live in a suburb of Chicago. I have had one parent complain to my wife about firearms in my house and how it was a bad influence. I informed that "lady" that her children play mature rated video games, I really don't care my son and I play rainbow 6 and Halo, go to web sites that they should not and if she did not like firearms in my house to keep her kids out. She then mentioned DCFS, that is the state children services in IL. I told her to go ahead, my firearms are legal the web sites her 8 and 10 y/ o sons visit are not for children. Never mentioned again. I do not buy the BS that schools are brainwashing our youth. Parents cannot complain that the kids are not learning AND being brainwashed. If a person has a well grounded education in firearms, the leftest BS that goes on in college will not sway them. I lied like a rug in psych class and some written and oral communication classes. I know that I should not have had to but I also know how to pick my battles, which is the most important thing to learn. THe teacher can say what they want. I wore NRA t-shirts, hats, hunting stuff and got A's and acted normal. Best defense there is to introduce other students to firearms. I had the same Psych professor two semesters in a row. He eventually went shooting with me. He said I was a walking contradiction. Ultra conservative on some things and very liberal on others. I said NOPE I am just ME. The man took a leave to do research. Named me as one of the "problems" he had to figure out. THat was in 1984 I live near the college and he still has not returned.

shoot...just come on down to Texas where
"opening day of dove season" is an acceptable reason to miss school and building deer stands in metal shop earns you an A+

Gentlemen (and Ladies), I know that these issues enrage us all. And I know what I am about to suggest may enrage some further, but I'll have to live with that.

'When in rome, do as the romans do.' That right. Act like an idiotic gun-grabber. Fit in. Conform. You'll be seething underneath, but here's why.

Guess what, no matter what you tell these people they are so high-minded that they ignore all logic and reason. They were raised stupid, and you just can't fix a lifetime of indoctrination. What we need to do is lie back and bide our time; become wolves in sheeps clothing.

Then, on that one fateful day when the hammer finally falls (civil war, invasion, secession, total ban on weapons, etc.) guess who is ready. Guess who is in charge. Guess who all those idiots will be looking too. They'll be thinking "Damn, I wish I hadn't been such a fool."

The die is already cast folks; we can either be looked down on, cast out, and be under suspicion today or rise up tomorrow and be legends.

When you give them your kids to brainwash (send them to school, expose them to their lies via TV, etc) do not complain when you wind up with brainwashed kids...

I do not know about you, but no child of mine will ever set foot inside a school, nor attend college, nor will they be raised by a TV.

If you want to know who dropped the ball, if any of us wants to know who dropped the ball, look in the mirror...

If you want to know who is going to have to pick up the ball, again, look in the mirror...

We failed, and it is on us to set things right again... Either we can groan, moan, and complain about how miserable things are, or we can do something meaningful to try to change it, or prepare for the time when we can change it.

While you can get away with homeschooling for K-12, college really helps when it is time to get a job. But pick a decent school, in a shooting friendly area. For example, at my college there are plenty of shooting students and some professors. One of my professors is a fan of pistols, and the other has her CCW permit (even though she is quite liberal).

Just how do you get expelled from a university for walking out of a class, unless, of course, you punch the instructor out on your way through the door?

I had issues with a couple of profs and instructors in school because of my (to them) obvious politics, and paid for it with Cs that messed up my GPA. But expelled?

This is the sort of stuff that finds folks expelled, right or wrong:

I agree with you, completely. From where I sit, it looks like we're going to have a complete ban within 8 years, probably sooner. Obama or whoever gets elected might ban them, sure. But...

Way I see it, a good 80% of the people under 30 are very strongly socialist, anti-gun, etc. - and there's no indication of a social change on the horizon which may change things. (Note: I'm 25.) They're not only socialist and anti-gun, they've been schooled (brainwashed) to believe in the supremacy of Democracy - democracy in the French vein - and are much more political than the people in the 30-50 age bracket, as near as I can tell.

And it's not just in urban areas, not in the least. I live in a very rural area (county seat - the biggest town - has 1300 people) of a rural state (total population ~630k - North Dakota). The young people who actually are still here seem to be either ignorant of politics, or active and pro-Democrat, pro-Obama, and and have not followed the local rural traditions of hunting and fishing to any significant degree.

Right. It's the way the Democratic Party's candidates play political poker. "I see your ban and raise you another ban."

It's why so many gun owners will either vote for the Democratic candidate, sit out the election and not vote, or vote for anyone but the Republican candidate. When faced with the choice of a Republican candidate who is imperfect they vote for a Democratic candidate who will do them in.

That's like a game of spin the bottle with the bottle rigged to stop at the dog because none of the humans are pretty enough. A fun game for people who don't mind winding up with the dog after the party's over.

Misspelling

United Democrats of America. Should be United Democrats of California. Since it seems all bad gun laws come from my state or are supported by it! eck

No, but in this century, if you want to be competitive, it sure helps a lot.

Farming:
Economics, accounting, statistics, biology, agronomy, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, mechanics, engineering, machining, meteorology, hydrology, ecology, geology, civil engineering, electronics, computers, agricultural law, government, politics, real estate, construction, contracting, finance.

I'm probably missing a lot. Commercial farming is pretty complicated stuff these days. Anyone who thinks farmers are dumb, doesn't know anything about it.
