Handgun Pictures

Just threaded the barrel on my Savage Striker 22-250 and made a muzzle brake for it. Threads are 1/2-28. Brake is made of 304 stainless. Chamber under the ports is half inch, then necks down to quarter inch after the ports. Then has a short "flash can" at the end. The crown of the muzzle brake is 11° off perpendicular, as are the 3/8" wide ports. Should hopefully do a good job at mitigating muzzle rise of this hand cannon.

I bought both of these from a gun shop, that bought an estate of guns. Both were new in the box, unfired. I bought the Mitchell first, for a very good price. I read about how bad the quality on them can be, and really wanted a good 4 1/2” Victor. I went and bought this ML series, made in Hamden, out of the same group of guns. A Victor, with a 4 1/2” barrel is one of the best looking pistols, ever made, in my eyes.

Some upgrades to the Tisas Stainless Steel Hi Power - I never liked the appearance of the original black-painted controls and felt that an all silver look was more pleasing to the eye and more becoming of the stature of the platform.

Improvements are both aesthetic and functional, to include: Speigel cocobolo grips (Herrett's cocobolo work too), extended SS Pachmayr slide stop, Mk III BHP SS extended safety, C&S wide SS trigger, SS mag release, SS mag (or baseplate), C&S no-bite hammer and sear, 26# mainspring, polished internals.

This has yielded a no-follow 3.5 lb trigger and a very accurate shooter. I'll add a gold bead front sight since I can do it myself for cheap (a 1.5mm 18K gold jewelry nose post off Etsy). A touch of class I think.

This is my favourite SA gun and it is essentially a brand new BHP. And I don't feel badly either for the subtle upgrades as I'm not bastardizing or dishonouring an original firearm. Stoked!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

These two are my favorites, both on the range and at home. I put hundreds of rounds through each, and still don’t prefer one over the other. I have other guns that might look better, shoot cheaper ammo, more compact, lighter, and in other ways practical, but nothing that is better in putting bullets where I want to put them consistently.

I have been on a .22 rimfire spree, for a while now. I pickup this Anschutz Exemplar, a couple weeks back. I have added riser blocks and a Burris 2x7 handgun scope. All I can say is WOW! This thing will shoot. I have put some CCI standard velocity through it and got 5 shot groups, around 1/2”. I have some very high quality.22 ammo coming. I can’t wait to put some really good stuff through it. I wish now, I had tried some of the CCI green tag, I have stashed for my High Standards. I have some SK pistol match and Lapua pistol osp and pistol king coming. I have read, these things will shoot one hole groups. I have a 50 yard range on my property, but my have to go someplace to really stretch it out. It looks new and the date code on the barrel is IH. From what I read, that makes it a first year production in 1987.
