Handgun Pictures

IMG_1614.JPG Hey; you're right...... This is a HANDgun thread... Here's the best I can do in that category other than a 25 ACP Raven. It's one of those "Defender" revolvers from the latter 1800's. This one is only marked "Defender" and who made it is unknown. I did discover that they were made by several different firms, one of which was Iver Johnson, but I think those were marked as such. They were the El-Cheapo SD gun of their day. This one is chambered in 32 Short Rimfire and the lockwork is pretty worn because they weren't exactly made of the highest quality material. That's why they were known for wearing out quickly if they were shot a lot, (intended to be carried a lot and fired little). I've never fired it and probably wouldn't even if I were to come across any 32 Short Rimfire ammo. Kept strictly as a curiosity item from a bygone era.

I'll play, the ruger has had some cosmetic surgery since the top photo.

Okay, I'll play along too! Besides my Hand Cannon, I also have a Hand Gun! This is my "Summer Carry". It's a L.W. Seecamp, I got this in the early '90's when you went on a waiting list and it took me about 6 months from order to receive it. (even longer for a second magazine!) For those who don't know, it was designed around the specific cartridge of a Winchester Silver Tip in .32 Auto. The Owner's Manual recommends that as the ONLY ammunition to fire out of it. 001.JPG
It holds 6+1.

Can't ignore a gen. 3 G-19 Glock either....... I fired a couple other G-19's on a few different occasions and decided I needed one of my own. It's over five years old already........ Still seems like I just got it. Not too crazy about the trigger but other than that these things kind of grow on you.

@ PT92 - I'm mostly a 1911 guy, but I love the lines of the Hi-Power more. So much so that I bought one in .40 S&W after I inherited a 9mm "T" serial numbered one from my brother and I carry them without reservation. Great guns!

I couldn't say it better. They both get the job done is a very similar manner functionality wise but in terms of pure aesthetics, I gotta agree with you--the Hi Power wins!'

-Cheers

That brings back some fond childhood memories! Besides the usual assortment of Hubley cap pistols and Mattel Fanner Fifties, the Marksman Repeater BB gun was one of the first "functional" guns I ever had. Probably explains why I have always been a big fan of the 1911 all these years.

Just got a set of boot grips for my Bond Arms derringer. Here she is with a .45acp barrel & new shoes. The medallions are "hobo nickels" I bought separately for the grips and are hand carved. E-bay and Etsy are good sources. A word of caution, the more detail the more $$.

What's recoil like on that little bad boy?

With the Hornady Custom loads the recoil is firm. I actually prefer the Federal 165gr Hydra shock low recoil rounds with the .45acp barrel. When I put the .410 snake slayer barrel on and feed it with buckshot it's a fistful of fury.
The boot grips help taming the beast.

Nothing fancy, but when you get old and can't see the front sight you'll understand :)
