Handloading the 243 Winchester. I am thinking about using DRT brass RL 17 powder 95 grain Silvertips and CCI BR 2 primers anyone have any thoughts on this.

Load two rounds each starting at 40.0gr up to 42.5gr.
Of the two that shoot closest to each other, load up the rest at that charge weight. I normally use 41.5gr IMR4350 for the .243 as that is a load that I worked up for my first.243 in 1974.
It's been a tack driver in every .243 I've owned since.

RL17 is a tad slower than IMR4350, and is a "clone" of H4350 as to charge weights, but matches IMR4350 for accuracy. RL17 is one of my favorite powders, and I plan to soon try it with some 90gr Speer Spts I recently obtained for a recently aquired Marlin XS7 .243.
I've also got some MagPro and some 105gr Speer I plan to try.

Most accurate loads I've had for the two 243s I've owned have been with 100gr Sierra Pro Hunters and Speer SPBT bullets and powders H1000, H414, IMR4166. If I do my part these are 1/4MOA. I haven't tested the silver tips much, but my experience was less than impressive.

My favored 243win load, in a fast twist rifle, is the 105 Hybrid over H4350, running CCI BR4's in necked Lapua Palma brass (small primer 308win). In a slower twist, or in a pistol, same under 87 or 95 VLD Hunters.

I also have some Nosler ballistic tips, and swift sirocco bullets anybody have any experience with these bullets.

My Sake Finnwolf shoots 36 gr IMR4064, cci 200 primer and 85 gr Speer coattail very accurately.

I just got some Hybrid 100V powder and some H4350. I now have 3 different powders to test. I have some Nosler partitions and accubonds on the way. I should be able to come up with a tack driving deer killing round out of these components.

What barrel twist are we talking? Ruger, rem? Savage? They are a Lil faster than the other brands and thus you're looking at different solutions, if it's a winny barrel (or like twist) the partitions, flat based speers, and Sierra prohunters work well, for faster twists, the boat tail b tip types will work beautifully, (excluding the 85 game king here) I push the 85-90 gr pills nicely (and accurately) hard with imr4831 but I'd slow the b tips and light game kings down for any shots under 75yds (mv <2900 mid road 4831sc or h380 or imr4166) for 95-100 gr bullets I run max loads of h1000. Imr4451 can be used with the mid heavies nicely but at slightly lower velocities. You didn't give us much to go on, so I'm giving you LOTS of filler. Performance wise, I've never noticed a difference between b tips and silver tips.
