Happy New....Rifle?

I think that everytime the gun fund gets a little plump (it's starving to death at the moment), then never make the purchase because there's always a list of things I want more than a Garand.

As for making a purchase right now, I could never do that, SHOT Show starts in 3 weeks. I need to see if the new gun announcements match up with anything on my "guns/variations I wish were produced but aren't" list, then I can start planning 2019 purchases.
ya i cant wait for shot show.

In regards to the CZ 455 FS, I heard they will not be offered this year. So might be good to get one now

Did you have the grendel chamber cut .011" deeper to compensate for the different depth bolt face? 7.62x39 uses a .125" deep bolt face whereas the grendel was spec'd with a .136" deep bolt face.

Nope. But thanks for the tip. Shouldn't be an issue with the barrel nut. I can headspace anywhere I need to.

I doubt its a problem on a Savage bolt gun, the two different chamber depths were to address shortcomings in the ar 15 platform. I bet all the Savage barrels are chambered to the same depth since they dont need to worry about tiny bolt lugs.

ya it is high on my list. i like the 455 american but a full stock 22 is very nice.[/QUOTE
i would like a cz 455 fs and there are some 527 fs in 222rem around. a mauser style action in 280ai. some kind off big frame lever action 1886 or 1895.

The FS is a good one for iron sights, but the butt has too much drop for scope use, IMHO.

It's a happy new----stock for me and it's for the 22 rimfire I drug home a couple or so months ago. It will work just fine out of the box but darn, there is a lot of extra wood I can get rid of. It's heavy and doesn't feel just right so I'm going to change it a bit, maybe a bunch.

Was saving up for a beautiful Anschutz 1712, but my kitchen range shot craps so instead of a new rifle I'm the proud owner of a new stove....grrrrr
