I sent him a PM last week. All is good with him. He's on another island and is more worried about flooding than fires.

Thanks for thinking if us and checking guys! Were doing fine, fires that caused the major loss of life are on another island, and the ones started here have been gotten under control.

This has been a trying time for those of us who know people in the 50th State.
Having to remember which of the many islands folk are on matters. (In my case, Oahu, Hawai'i, and Molukai.)
It's as complicated as knowing folk in the Hatteras Roads--there's often major differences geographically between them all.

It can get confusing sometimes. I can never remember which family are on what islands, or out of state, my uncle has hhl on Maui, but its up country and i dont think hes developed yet. Most of our family is on Oahu, and my wifes here, Oahu, or Molokai.

Usually every time something major happens theres alot of calling around to see whos where.

My son lives on O’ahu and works as an operations manager for an inter island shipping firm there.

He says they are not affected by the smoke from Maui, but that his company has been super busy trying to get relief equipment and supplies over there.

Hopefully the state and Federal govt’s will provide more aid quickly.
