Like others, my luck for winning raffles is pretty dismal, but I have won twice at some past FONRA dinners.
One year I decided to drop a little more coin than usual on the tickets and ended up buying one of the packages that included a "red bucket ticket". That particular year they had 4 "red bucket" guns. First red ticket pulled, the guy got his choice of the 4. Think he picked a bolt action rifle. Second guy picked a Browning 20g BPS. Third ticket was mine and what was left to choose was a Rossi Trifecta 3 barrel (.22LR, 243, 20g) youth gun, or a MDM Buckwacka muzzleloader. Neither was a great option for me, as the Rossi was way too small for me and no young ones in the family, and I am a traditional muzzleloader sort of guy. And I had about 15 seconds to choose. With a lens on trading/selling whichever I picked, I took the Rossi. They had an FFL working the banquet, so I was able to take it home that night.
At the banquet there was a guy from work and we got talking the following Monday. Seems he had done some gun trading, and had taken in a T/C White Mountain Carbine muzzleloader as part of a trade package. He had no interest in it, but had some interest in the Rossi as he felt he could get more for that than the T/C. So we did a straight trade and I ended up with something I really like and use so it all worked out.
Second gun I won was a Daisy Red Ryder in the "white bucket" drawing.
