Have You "Taken Care" of a Neighbor or Friend?

You betcha. I let a bullseye shooter I know have 2 bricks of CCI standard velocity 22 for what I had into it - $50. I gave a bunch of shotgun components to a 5-stand shooter. What goes around, comes around. These guys would do the same for me if the situation was reversed. I have no use for profiteering. It's all about helping fellow shooters.

I did and it was a mistake. I hooked friend up with 1250 rounds of 9mm and now he wants more. It took me 36 hours of waiting in line over 6 weeks to purchase the ammo I let him have at what I paid for it. If I don't help him out he will be upset and if I sell it for replacement cost plus my time he will be upset.
If he's upset either way,I'd say that's his problem. Some people will ride a free horse to death.Time for new friends,I think !!!

Gave 1k of 22lr to a neighbor for his six-shooters. We are generous with help for each other.

I have had a lot of people ask me to reload for them. Mostly I say no due to the liability involved. There are a few that donate their brass to me and I load them a few boxes in exchange for the brass.

I have been helping a few friends get into reloading. Donated some components, equipment, and press time here and there to help the cause.

Most people dont understand the time and effort involved in reloading, especially rifle ammunition. I offer to let friends use my presses if they have components, but most shy away at it due to the time it consumes.

Yes, I helped my wife's friend decide on her first pistol and when she came down to learn how to use it in Feb, she used my ammo and I sent her home with 100 rounds of 9mm. I think it's just good character to help out those in need and gun owners tend to have a lot of character from what I've seen.

I've had two friends buy new pistols in 9mm, but couldn't find ammo. I gave them a few hundred rounds each.

Also gave my neighbor some brass, projectiles, and primers for his new AK47.

Yup, squared away a pal with ss109 to use for Maricopa County Posse's carbine qualification... 'Course, he hooked me up with a bunch of FBI 10mm too - so there's that.

Oh yesh. In fact I offered to help Leupold (yes that Leupold) with some of my more plentiful calibers of ammo if they needed it.

Sadly their requirements are VASTLY greater than my pitiful stock. They then turned around and asked me why I didn't work for them.

Hrrm. . . .

In Eastern Oregon they say Leopold.. in the west, they say they say Loopold (which is perhaps more proper.. depends though).
That company accepts this and says that this is just the way it goes.

Just before the craziness I gave several bricks of Remington .22lr plus about another brick of misc boxes of .22 that had accumulated over the years to the youth program at my gun club. Also gave the instructor several boxes of .410 & 20 gauge and a few boxes of .22 mag to pass on to kids who could use it as he does the 4H program & hunter safety courses too.

Since the panic I picked up a 420 rd can of 5.56 Federal for a buddy and offered to help out he and a select few others with 9mm ball, 5.56 Wolf or 20 round AR mags if needed, just for what I had in the stuff as I wanted to support shooters I trust. No one took advantage though.

During the last shortage I gave a friend a couple of flats of cci large rifle primmers and just reciently I gave a friend a box of federal bulk 22 so his kids could shoot after he couldn't find any 22 ammo.

I made a deal with a friend and got about a thousand rounds of his reloads. Only one has had a problem. I would have to really trust anyone with something like that.

Four of us from church went to the range a while back. Turns out I was the newbies RO, and though he paid my range fees I supplied the ammo. Wasn't too bad of a hit considering they are my friends and we got to bond a little.

Does This Count

I gave a buddy all the 8mm Mauser (7.92x57) I had left. S&B commercial FMJ and soft point.

Thats hilarious Bruno! i wish i could think of this funny stuff quicker than you all!

I've sold a box of Hornady premium .380 for what I paid ($20), loaned a friend 100 rounds of .223, and had another friend over to load his .44 Mag brass.

I also provide the ammo when I take friends shooting.

Yes. Have a friend with a youngster who just got into shooting. Donated 2 bricks from my stash.

I am getting so sick of ammo threads. I think almost everyone here has already said they would give or sell at cost ammo to a friend or newbie. I would too.
Hmm. Maybe you should quit reading them then. Just an idea.

My neighbor. And I get along. We have keys to each other's. Houses and trucks as well as share safe combos. Just in case. I ain't moving

Not this go round, but last one I gave them both 500rds of 38spl. Inherited 10k from the old man so I figured I would pass it around a little. We too get along but no keys exchanged.
